Orientation & Introduction to Information Systems
Prior to the commencement of CSIT 101, my mindset was that I know the computer and the e-environment, but it did not take too long for me to realize that I was wrong. However, when the course opened with Unit 0 at the beginning of the semester, it got me thinking about what the instructor wanted, but going into it, I discovered great new stuff with a lot of juice.
My Accomplishments
I was able to achieve the following:
Set up a notebook to record my course work and submit set-up photos on Brightspace.
Understand what information systems are and the workings of CCBC’s learning management system, Brightspace.
Complete SIMnet Registration & Essentials SIMpath with maximum points.
Complete Outlook Essentials SIMpath with maximum points.
Complete professional email assignment.
Start a thread about ‘Automatic Signature’ on the Discussion Board to reflect on the professional email assignment.
Define Unit 0 Terms including the source of verification of each term in my notebook and submit photos (attached below) on Brightspace.
Create a digital file of Unit 0 Terms called ClassNotes on OneDrive and submit the link to the digital file on Brightspace.
New Things I learned.
In this unit, I learned the following new things:
How to create a folder on OneDrive, share, and copy folder link.
How to create a signature file, rules, set alerts, and how to set an automatic reply on Outlook.
Overall Takeaway
This unit made me love the course and give more attention to it after realizing that there are grey areas in my knowledge of digital communication.
It was pure fun for me, but the most fun part was understanding Outlook much better than I had before with the creation of my Signature File, and usage for the first time and subsequently.
