Objective 5.2 Using Accommodations

Overview of Available Accommodations

You can apply basic accommodations, modify question settings, assign math tools, provide reading supports, and more on a student-by-student basis as needed.

To learn about each accommodation option that is available to be applied to students, use the drop down arrow next to the accommodation in the article to see a brief description of what the accommodation does as well as a graphic that shows how students would experience it.

Accommodation Profiles

Accommodation profiles are customized settings assigned to individual students to personalize their learning experience and provide equitable access to content. These profiles allow teachers to select specific accommodations, such as text-to-speech, translated text, reduced answer choices, extra time, etc and then enable them for students. By using accommodation profiles, teachers can ensure that students with diverse learning needs receive the necessary support, allowing them to access the same content as their peers. These profiles stay in place for all activities assigned to the student, so only need to be set once.

Note: In order to set up accommodation profiles for your students, you must have classes visible in the Classes area in the Students section. Revisit Module 1 if you need help.

Objective 5.3 Viewing Session Reports

Reports

Wayground automatically generates a report for every Wayground session you start as a live activity or assign as homework. These reports contain detailed insights into the performance of your students. These insights can help you monitor every student’s progress and gauge their understanding.

Wayground AI & AI Toolkit

The Wayground AI toolkit is a collection of artificial intelligence-powered tools within the Wayground platform designed to assist educators with creating and managing instructional materials. It helps teachers generate assessments, presentations, and content material from various sources.The toolkit is intended to act as a personalized teaching assistant, saving teachers time on administrative tasks.

Objective 5.5 External Wayground Tools

When your district purchased Wayground, they secured a DPA. This DPA covers the add-on and extension developed by Wayground. Still, access to these tools needs to be enabled by your account administrator, typically IT. Should you want to utilize these tools and you are blocked from installing them, please submit a ticket requesting these tools to be whitelisted for teachers.

Explore the benefits of the Wayground AI Chrome Extension, which allows you to instantly create interactive quizzes or passages from any publicly accessible website, Google Docs, or Google Slides content with a single click.

"Wayground AI: Turn Any Website into a Quiz" Chrome Extension

Wayground for Slides Add-on

The Wayground Google Slides Add-on is designed to enhance interactive learning experiences by integrating Wayground's engaging question types directly into Google Slides presentations. The add-on allows educators to make their lessons more interactive by adding various question types from Wayground, such as multiple-choice, fill-in-the-blanks, and polls, inserting them after slides to check for understanding or provide practice opportunities for students.
