Overview of Wayground - Interface & Features

The primary objective of this module is to guide you through the essentials of getting started with Wayground and lay the foundation for future course modules. This module will cover the following key areas:

How to access Wayground: Learn how to log in and get your Wayground account set up.
Platform navigation with a summary of key features: Get familiar with the Wayground dashboard, locate essential tools, and get an overview of features like AI-supported content creation, differentiated assignments, and detailed reporting.
Overview of the types of activities you can create: Learn about the variety of resources beyond quizzes, including Lessons, Interactive Videos, Passages, and Flashcards.
Adding a class: Discover simple methods for creating or importing your student rosters, including integration with popular Learning Management Systems (LMSs) like Google Classroom.

For each objective below, review the included material. When done, proceed to the Module Quiz linked at the bottom of this page.

Reminder: This course is for those with a paid School and District Wayground account only. If you do not have a paid account DO NOT proceed with this course as you will not be able to complete the performance task that is required to earn course credit.

Objective 1.1 How to Access

METHOD 1

Visit wayground.com
Click Login
Select Continue with Google
Choose an account
When prompted, select your subjects and grades

METHOD 2

Navigate to your school's Single Sign On Platform (ex. Clever, ClassLink)
Click on the Wayground icon to launch
When prompted, select your subjects and grades

There are 5 types of resources, or activities you can create: Assessment, Presentation, Video, Passage, and Flashcards. In this video I will provide an overview of each resource type. For more detailed information on resources types, view this document.

Objective 1.4 How to Add a Class

Add a Class Manually

Having classes in Wayground is essential if you would like to setup accommodation profiles for students. In this video, I will show you how to create a class manually and how to add students to the class.

If interested in how classes can be imported automatically, view the associated resources below as they apply to you.

Other methods of importing classes

Schoology *, ClassLink **, Classroom, Microsoft Teams *, Canvas *, Clever **, Blackboard *, Moodle *, Toddle *, Brightspace *

* requires LTI integration to be setup by an administrator

** requires district administrator to setup rostering
