Sodexo has a formal innovation process, as part of our Operational Excellence approach. Utilizing our innovation process, we can achieve both actual dollar savings and improved employee satisfaction and productivity. Simply stated, our innovation process:
Enables and identifies the creation of innovative ideas – This includes ideas generated at the individual site level, as well as transformational ideas that occur from the top down or even outside the business.
Develops and documents the ideas in a way that is easily shared – We capture all ideas in a way that is easily understood by all, utilizing technology for rapid communication.
Deploys and scales the innovation throughout the operations – Through a two-way exchange of knowledge (ensuring the innovation is challenged and thereby continuously improved), our innovation process is made available to the right people within our organizations, and supported by an effective change management process.
Our innovation process includes the identification of new ideas from a variety of sources:
Operations-driven: Often identified by those with hands-on experience, these ideas are derived through practice-led innovation, identifying areas where current practices can be modified or replaced.
Creativity-driven: Individuals create new ideas.
Problem-driven: Innovation is developed to solve a problem or develop a better way of performing.
Contextually-driven: The development of new ideas is driven by external sources, such as global events, industry trends or competitive developments.
These different sources for innovation will result in various degrees of transformational innovation and continuous improvement to be deployed at our client sites.
