In this chapter, we're going to explore two important things that affect how people behave with each other: altruism and aggression. Altruism is all about being kind and helpful to others without expecting anything in return. It's like doing something good just because you care about someone else. But, on the flip side, there's aggression, which is when people act in a mean or hostile way. We'll dig into why people sometimes act selflessly and help others, even if it means they might have to give something up. At the same time, we'll also look into why people can sometimes act aggressively and what causes those not-so-nice behaviors. By the end of this chapter, you'll have a better understanding of why we do the things we do when we're interacting with others.
