2019

In 2019, the CIE SoCal chapter hosted multiple events to engage our members and build a sense of community including - The Five-Star Challenge, an Annual Convention, a Young Professional Forum as well as events for younger members of the club such as the Discover E Girl Day and Future City & Paint the Future Art/STEAM Contest. All the conducted events were aimed at engaging the Asian American community of all different ages.

5-Star Challenge

The 5-Star Challenge consisted of proposing and presenting STEM-related projects before a group of judges. A total of 8 students presented their projects, each pursuing varying levels of education including Associate's, Undergraduate, Master's, and Doctorate degrees. Annual Convention

At the annual convention, members reunited to spend time together. The meeting consisted of award presentations, trivia questions, a discussion of past accomplishments as well as planning/ discussion of future activities. Some photos of the annual convention can be seen below.

2019 CIE Annual Convention

Paint the Future Event

Paint the Future Event is geared towards youth in 5th grade or below. The stated theme for the submissions this year was: "How Would You Recycle Water" The mission of this event is to challenge the youngster's imagination to paint the future as they see fit while addressing important the world issues, such as lack of access to fresh water or lack of access to equitable education in communities all over the world.
