구 교수는 국가전략기술 특별위원회 활동과 혁신 연구를 통해 반도체·디스플레이·첨단 모빌리티를 포함한 12대 국가전략기술 확정 과정에 기여했으며, 이번 수상은 광운대학교의 반도체 인재 양성과 산학연 공동 연구 성과를 대외적으로 인정받는 계기가 되었습니다.

"Prof. Sang-Mo Koo (Department of Electronic Materials Engineering, Kwangwoon University) received a commendation from the Minister of Science and ICT at the “National Science and Technology Innovation Merit Awards Ceremony” held on the 22nd, in recognition of his contributions to the advancement of next-generation semiconductors and national science and technology innovation."

Through his research and activities in the National Strategic Technology Committee, Prof. Koo played a key role in defining 12 national strategic technologies, including semiconductors, displays, and advanced mobility. This award highlights Kwangwoon University’s recognized achievements in talent development and industry–academia R&D in the semiconductor field.

The SNDL research team participated in ICSCRM 2024, held in Raleigh, North Carolina, USA, from September 29 to October 4, and presented their research achievements. In addition, Prof. Sang-Mo Koo, who serves as a co-chair of ICSCRM 2025 to be held in Busan in September 2025, provided an update on the preparations for next year’s conference and promoted the event.
