Schematic design is the development of graphic and written conceptual design solutions to the program for the owner/client’s approval.
A drawing showing all significant components, parts, or tasks (and their interconnections) of a circuit, device, flow, process, or project by means of standard symbols. Schematic diagrams for a project may also be used for preparing preliminary cost estimates.
Conceptual and Schematic Design
Following the Master Plan and the definition of the first phase(s) of development, the designing of site components is in more detail. Phase one development areas are enlarged as more detail begins to emerge.
Design Development
Upon completion of the Schematic Design, the next set of drawings begins to illustrate all site components to be constructed. Exterior areas are further enlarged in plan and initial construction details are developed. Typically, site elements include the following:
