Here's a quick overview of some of the fundraising events we did this year and how much we raised:
One-time SC Family Donations:Â $4,785

With our gaming grant we receive at the beginning of each school year, we were able to bring in the following programs:
Tennis with Coach Marcus $7,000
Hip Hop Dancing $2,000
Magic Show $891
We're looking forward to planning more exciting fundraising events for the upcoming school year! :)
PAC gave $7,500 to the school to subsidize the cost of outdoor rock benches and planters for an outdoor learning space on the west side of the school.
PAC gave $10,000 to the school to purchase new technology for students to replace the aging devices.
PAC gave $6300 to cover the cost of bringing coach Marcus to our school for 3 weeks. Each class gets 6 sessions with Coach Marcus over 3 weeks.

PAC gave $300 per classroom to fund field trip activities to be used by the teachers' discretion:
Ms. Leighs (div 8), Ms. Smith (div 10), Ms. Koh (div 11), Ms. Lynch (div 12), Ms. Kim (div 13) and Ms. Dybowski (div 14) brought their classes to visit the aquarium.
Ms. Gushue (Div 7) and Ms. Burton (Div 9) brought their classes to visit the Planetarium and learned about planets, meteor showers, black holes, galaxies and other astronomical wonders.
Ms. Klassen (div 20), Ms. Johnston (div 21) and Ms. Simonson (div 22) brought their classes to visit our local regional park to learn more about hermit crabs, seaweeds and clams. The classes got to inestigate the incredit biodiversity that is revelaed when the tide goes out.
Along with our generous donors, PAC was able to fund an additional accessible playground for the primary grades. See Playground Fund page for more details.
We hosted two movie nights this school year showing Hotel Transylvania 3 and The Bad Guys. We donated all the proceeds from the second movie night to Backpack Buddies.Â
We hosted a welcome BBQ to welcome all the Smiling Creek families back to start the 2022-2023 school year. We are so grateful for the volunteers that helped make the event run smoothly and so happy that we can host these events again.
Our amazing volunteers made it possible to provide weekly hot lunches and treat days to the students.
