Email your story and why you want to see a middle/secondary school built in Burke Mountain ASAP.
March 11, 2021
To the Honourable John Horgan, Premier of British Columbia, the Honourable Jennifer Whiteside, Minister of Education, and the Honourable Fin Donnelly, MLA for Coquitlam-Burke Mountain,
This is a letter to request funding allocation for the much-needed blended middle/secondary school on Burke Mountain in Coquitlam.
My name is [X] and my family and I have been living on Burke Mountain for [X] years. We have [X] children, aged [X].
It is important to my family to have a middle/secondary school here on Burke Mountain because [X - please include individual concerns and experiences here. This can include anything from what you were told by builders/developers, to personal experiences of older children being split up from peers to go to catchment middle schools, to bussing far distances to go to middle/high school].
Burke Mountain residents voted for the NDP because a school was promised. [You many want to note here that you changed your previous voting strategy if you did.] Please see that commitment through by advocating for provincial funding for the future blended middle/secondary school on Burke Mountain. We trust that all efforts will be made to fulfil NDP campaign promises at the government level to support the growing Burke Mountain school-aged population.
Thank you for your dedication to this very crucial funding.
Kind regards,
