MULTIBEAM SURVEY
Multibeam surveys are used to gather detailed information about the features on the seabed by measuring multiple depths from a single transducer array at high resolution. The result is a highly accurate 3D picture of the sea floor.
ALL HYDROGRAPHIC WORKS COMPLY WITH THE INTERNATIONAL HYDROGRAPHIC ORGANIZATION (IHO) STANDARD AND MEET THE MINIMUM STANDARD FOR HYDROGRAPHIC SURVEY IN ACCORDANCE WITH IHO STANDARD FOR HYDROGRAPHIC SURVEYS SP 44 6TH EDITION, MARCH 2020, SPECIAL ORDER.
EQUIPMENT
The Norbit WBMS multi-beam echo sounder system or equivalent be used to acquire multi-beam echo sounding (full seabed scan) with 100% overlapping.
The Hemisphere Atlas Differential Global Positioning System (DGPS), or equivalent, be used to position the survey boat and thus the bathymetric soundings.
The SBG Ekinox A, or equivalent, be used to compensate the motions and heave of the Multibeam sonarhead as well as for the DGPS atenna for accurate positioning.
The Hemisphere VS330 GPS Heading, used to provide orientation and thus positioning for the Multibeam swath bathymetry soundings, offset positioning of all survey and positioning sensors, as well as for vessel’s heading and navigation.
The Norbit SVP sound velocity profiler, or equivalent, be used to measure the sound velocity profile within the survey area for Multibeam and Single Beam sounding application and correction.
