Dr Dash holds a PhD in Economics from Indian Institute of Technology, Ropar. His areas of interests are primarily urban economics, economics of crime and climate change economics. His teaching interests are primarily managerial economics, international trade, urban economics and economics of corruption. His research work has been published in Energy Policy, Economics of Disasters and Climate Change, Indian Growth and Development Review, Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews and Journal of Developing Areas.
