Technology coaches assist teachers in using technology effectively for assessing student learning, differentiating instruction, and providing rigorous, relevant and engaging learning experiences for all students.
ISTE-C 2a: Coach teachers in and model design and implementation of technology-enhanced learning experiences addressing content standards and student technology standards.
Demonstrates an understanding of best practices for using technology in the classroom by embracing both content and ISTE-S standards. Includes presentations from various PDs I have given as well as resources created for the Instructional Technology program.
ISTE-C 2b: Coach teachers in and model design and implementation of technology-enhanced learning experiences using a variety of research-based, learner-centered instructional strategies and assessment tools to address the diverse needs and interests of all students.
Demonstrates understanding of best practices of creating a flipped classroom. Video presentation is created for other teachers to use in order to develop understanding of what a flipped classroom is. Provides rationale for teaching in a flipped classroom and how to successful integrate technology into the flipped classroom.
ISTE-C 2c: Coach teachers in and model engagement of students in local and global interdisciplinary units in which technology helps students assume professional roles, research real-world problems, collaborate with others, and produce products that are meaningful and useful to a wide audience.
Demonstrates understanding of how students can create websites such as wikis to engage wider audience. Demonstrates how students and teachers can work together to create classroom blog or use social media to communicate in a professional manner.
ISTE-C 2d: Coach teachers in and model design and implementation of technology-enhanced learning experiences emphasizing creativity, higher-order thinking skills and processes, and mental habits of mind (such as critical thinking, metacognition and self-regulation).
Demonstrates understanding of using web-based environments in the classroom to increase student engagement and student learning. Explores using various LMS platforms in the classroom and integrating multimedia (such as videos and QR codes) in the classroom both for accessing content and demonstration of learning. Explores student creativity through use of “Genius Hour”.
ISTE-C 2e: Coach teachers in and model design and implementation of technology-enhanced learning experiences using differentiation, including adjusting content, process, product and learning environment based on student readiness levels, learning styles, interests and personal goals.
Learning plan for professional development on using choice boards and hyperdocs in the classroom. Demonstrates understanding of differentiation by using hyperdocs to allow students to choose how to access content (content and process) and using choice boards to allow students to choose how to demonstrate learning (process and product).
ISTE-C 2f: Coach teachers in and model incorporation of research-based best practices in instructional design when planning technology-enhanced learning experiences.
Demonstrates understanding of effective models of integrating technology into instruction.
ISTE-C 2g: Coach teachers in and model effective use of technology tools and resources to continuously assess student learning and technology literacy by applying a rich variety of formative and summative assessments aligned with content and student technology standards.
Demonstrates knowledge of technology-based assessment tools useful for formative and summative assessments. Includes resources for assessment, and how to use data when assessment is complete. Includes information on how to effectively assess in the classroom and the importance of different assessments
ISTE-C 2h: Coach teachers in and model effective use of technology tools and resources to systematically collect and analyze student achievement data, interpret results, and communicate findings to improve instructional practice and maximize student learning.
Demonstrates how to effectively collect student data and scores in an organized way. Models collecting data from multiple teachers in Google Sheets, and how to create groups based on content mastery, by using tools like conditional formatting and data sorting.
