Established in 1923 and headquartered in Lyon, France, the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) is an intergovernmental agency under the United Nations dedicated to combating global crime and fostering international law enforcement collaboration. Over the decades, INTERPOL has expanded its reach to encompass 194 member countries, operating with a budget of €136 million in 2020.
The organization primarily targets three core areas of transnational crime: terrorism, cybercrime, and organized crime, but its wider mandate extends to addressing nearly every type of criminal activity, including drug and human trafficking, political corruption, copyright violations, environmental offenses, and financial crimes. INTERPOL is a vital player in upholding security and stability worldwide.
INTERPOL is a committee designed for beginner delegates, offering a traditional Model UN conference experience. Position papers will not be required to be considered for an award.

Director
As a sophomore at Steveston-London Secondary, Ryan is thrilled to be the Director of the International Criminal Police Organization for SLSSMUN 2025. Being dragged into Model UN as a new, apprehensive 10th grader by his friends, Ryan was soon immersed into the diverse intricacies of public speaking and debate. Since his first conference where he delivered his rushed and quivery speeches, MUN has exposed Ryan to countless new experiences, ranging from the friends and connections he made to bruising his knuckles from knocking on the table more often. Outside of MUN, Ryan can often be found practicing badminton, frantically reviewing for tests, and endlessly scrolling on reels. He looks forward to meeting everyone at the second iteration of SLSSMUN!
Chair
As a Grade 11 student at Steveston London Secondary School, Fiona is thrilled to serve as Chair of The International Police Organization (INTERPOL) at SLSSMUN 2025. She was first dragged into MUN kicking and screaming by a close friend in Grade 10, with her first ever speech being a grand total of 20 seconds (in which she was shaking the entire time). Later on she learned to truly enjoy the passionate and brain rot filled debates, especially while trying to nuke other countries time and time again. Outside of MUN Fiona can be found baking, walking her dog, going out with friends for girls night, or being brutally beaten to a pulp in Valorant. Fiona looks forward to a fun filled conference and hopes to create an unforgettable experience at this year's SLSSMUN, wishing all participants good luck.
Chair
Oleya is thrilled to serve as a chair of the International criminal police organization in this years conference. She began her Model UN journey in Grade 10, drawn to the compelling and complex global issues faced in all parts of the world. From consuming her first ever cans of Monster at her first conference, to playing 20 rounds of ping pong after the midnight crises, Oleya had learned to love every memory made in her journey. With a deep passion for politics, she finds Model UN to be the perfect platform to explore debate and leadership. Outside of MUN, Oleya enjoys spending her time in Uncle Sam’s shawarma, skiing on the slopes, and playing guitar during her freetime. She looks forward to an exciting and dynamic conference this year!
