Seminary is a religious education program for all youth from grades 9-12 (age 14-18). We're happy to offer a class specifically for students doing homeschool. We realize that the A/B schedule does not always fit the needs of homeschool students and by offering the homeschool class, we try to accommodate your scheduling needs. For the next school year, we intend to hold a class for homeschool students on Tuesday's and Thursday's from 7:00-8:30am.
In order to receive credit, students are required to fulfill the following requirements:
(1) Attendance - Attend at least 75% of the days that classes are held. If students fall below the 75% requirement, makeup work can be completed.
(2) Reading - Read the required reading
(3) Assessment - Pass the end of semester Doctrinal Mastery Assessment
Seminary will be a spiritually strengthening experience for those who are willing and wanting to succeed by doing the following:
First - show up on time; Classes can be strengthened by the social interactions that happen between students before class ever begins. So when you get to seminary, be a friend by smiling and getting to know other students in your class before class begins. While in seminary, seek to learn by the Holy Ghost as you avoid distractions, follow along with the lesson in your own paper scriptures, and participate in the lesson by asking/answering questions, recording thoughts and impressions in your journals, and being willing to pray or read with the class.
