Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT): Summary

My Therapy provision is flexible, adaptable and based mostly on a Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT) approach. This is an evidence-based, structured Psychotherapy designed to support young people, and adults who have experienced trauma. It combines cognitive-behavioural techniques with trauma-sensitive approaches to help individuals understand trauma responses, regulate emotions, process traumatic memories safely, and challenge unhelpful beliefs such as self-blame or guilt. Through skills development, gradual exposure to trauma-related memories and reminders, and a focus on safety and empowerment, TF-CBT aims to reduce symptoms of post-traumatic stress and anxiety while strengthening coping skills, resilience, and overall functioning. TF-CBT is collaborative, structured, and empowering, helping individuals regain control over trauma-related distress while building long-term coping skills and resilience.
