I have been working therapeutically with young people and adults since 2006. As a Person-Centred Therapist trained additionally in Trauma-Focused CBT, Integrative approaches, Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) and Advanced Somatic EMDR, I bring a depth of clinical experience to my practice. I am also a fully qualified Clinical Supervisor and hold registered membership with the BACP.
Over the years, I have held Lead Therapist and Clinical Lead roles across a variety of settings, including schools, local trauma and mental health charities, and a national therapeutic provider. I am skilled in building trusting, accepting, and safe therapeutic relationships, and I work in-depth with individuals who have experienced trauma, always through a relational and safe approach that is responsive to the specific needs of each person.
Now in my Private Practice, I understand that trauma affects the mind, body, emotions and relationships. My approach recognises that behaviour and emotional responses often reflect unmet needs and past experiences rather than choice.
I work in ways that prioritise:
· Safety and trust
· Relational connection
· Emotional regulation
· Empowerment and choice
· Trauma and complex trauma
· Emotional regulation difficulties
· Relationship and attachment challenges
· Anxiety, stress, and phobias
· Long-standing emotional difficulties linked to early experiences
