Program Overview
The COPE Health Scholar Program was initiated in 2001 and since then we have provided students firsthand clinical experience in healthcare systems across all of Southern California, Washington, Oregon, and Hawaii. In addition, we have over 34,000 alumni, who are now medical professionals or healthcare administrators across the United States.
As a Health Scholar, you will gain firsthand experience in both clinical and administrative healthcare settings and become an integral part of the patient care delivery team. You will assist with basic care for patients alongside nurses, physicians, and other members of the patient care delivery team. You will have opportunities to learn the “business” of healthcare, preparing you for your healthcare career and helping you earn volunteer hours for medical school, nursing school, and other graduate programs while positioning you well for entry-level positions in healthcare.
