About Me:

I am really excited to be here!

My professional career started in graphic design and communications. I worked with local, national, and international non-profit organizations to create better communications for a variety of target audiences. In this work I applied visual communication, and teaching and learning best practices to design collaterals; the principles are very closely related. Cognitive load theory, hierarchy, and the principles of design are equally relevant in my work.

Graphic design is the foundation that allows me to combine effective learning design with elegant and relevant visuals. In instructional design I have worked at both universities and governmental agencies. For this work I still rely on five principles of graphic design. But my toolkit now has so much more: Neuroscience of Learning, Motivational Learning Theories, ADDIE, and ARCS. I preach these as best practices in the undergraduate and graduate classes that I teach at area universities!

My aim is to learn, grow, and educate.
