Sinophobia Tracker during CoronaVirus

Fear and discrimination will not take us far

This site has discontinued to update.

Dear everyone,

This is an official announcement that we will discontinue the update of our website as of today, February 7, 2022. Two years ago, Dr. Wenliang Li, one of the whistle-blowers who warned people of coronavirus outbreak, passed away on the same day. His death saddened people around the world. But his story has continued to inspire us to fight against COVID and all the collateral damage the pandemic has since caused in our lives.

The Sinophobia Tracker during CoronaVirus was launched in February 2020. Although we started the website to document sinophobia, we quickly realized the scope and death of structural racism went beyond anti-Chinese racism. Our goal was to archive and document the information on anti-Asian racism and on people's efforts to counter such trends worldwide during the COVID-19 outbreak for future alarms against racism and xenophobia.

During the course of the two years, we have collected related news reports from late January 2020 to the end of January 2022. We have documented different projects to combat anti-Asian racism, such as teach-in materials and fact-checking resources. We have archived stories of individuals and groups. We also wrote blogs and invited people to share their experiences and thoughts in our blog section.

Many people have contributed to the building of this website in the past two years.

We are grateful for everything and everyone that we have come across along this journey.

Our futures are built upon the past and present. How we remember the past will shape the ways in which we move forward. Fear and discrimination will not take us far. We need to record, remember, change, and carry on.

Our site and all of the public resources we have collected will continue to be accessible, and so is our email address. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at

Thank you so much for all the love and support,
