There are two basic types of training for Sindows! One is mandatory and one is optional, however there are great benefits to completing Career Training. If your Sindow has a birth defect, Disability training is in place of basic training.
Basic Training:
Basic training is for ALL Sindows, no matter if they are street or official. This also includes all breeds of Sindow!
Does my Sindow have to be trained to breed?
Yes, it needs to have basic training completed before it can move on to the breeding test.
What can my Sindow do without being trained?
Exploring, monthly quests, Grooming/Round Pen pieces, and group events!
*Some group events may require training to be done. They will state so if they do*
Can I train my Street and Official Sindow together?
Yes! There are judges who work for both sides, so you just have to find the right one. You can also work this out however you see fit. Unless the street judge is an actively wanted criminal then most official judges can do nothing legally as they are training a Sindow, not participating in illegal activities. Yes, some official judges are snitches, but alot of them won't cause much of a fuss.
Basic training consists of TWO pieces, the Obedience test and the Aptitude test.
You’ll complete both and submit them. What level of scoring your Sindows falls in is dependent on Genetic Quality, Stat Points, and RNG. (Plus any items/bonus's you may have). Since Genetic Quality will be starting off low for most, if not all Sindows, the scoring brackets will be adjusted for that. Once the average of higher GQ Sindows goes up, the scoring brackets will change as well. (Since stats are a factor, each breed will technically have it's own scoring bracket)
If you had a Sindow that completed training through the first method - one image completed training and you could do a bonus image for more points - if you completed one image, you can complete another and submit both to get current rewards and genetic quality. If you have two, you can resubmit for current rewards. If you did the three image method of training, you can use two images from that to resubmit to gain current rewards!
If you have an old player owned starter that has completed training, you can also complete training for them and submit to get rewards. Otherwise they are just fine.
You will not get the rewards until both trainings have been submitted.
Storyline Info:
this information has nothing to do with when you submit your tests, just some info to add in story wise to create your scene, etc…
Sindows are trained from a very young age. They learn and perfect the basic commands like sit and stay when they are several months old. These tests are called 'training' but in reality they are just judges observing all that your Sindow has learned. The tests are typically done when the Sindow is 2-3 years of age, BUT do not have to be. They can be older, but never younger than 2 years of age.
The Obedience test is always done first and the Aptitude test done second. They are not done on the same day, to prevent stress and exhaustion to the Sindow. Obedience is done and then the Aptitude test takes several days to complete.
The Obedience Test: This test shows that your Sindow can complete a string of basic commands and commands.
Official: Typically a judge will come out to your stable from a local SREA chapter. This is to keep the Sindows comfortable and so that people don't have to travel long distances to get to the SREA main facility. They will stand aside as you take your Sindow through their basic obedience commands, sit, stay, and come. They will also watch the Sindow being led, tacked up, and ridden (only if Standard, Draft, Variant, or Gigan). After this is all said and done, the judge will perform an inspection themselves by going around and touching the Sindows face, lifting gums, touching near the eyes/ears, and checking the paws/feet of the Sindow to get a general sense of their attitude and soundness.
Street: Despite not being official with alot of things, Street gangs are still very concerned with the care of the Sindows and whether or not they are suitable for what they want the Sindows to do. So, you will go to a specified area from a local street gang (this can be completely made up), or they can come to your stable. Generally, Street judges are less likely to visit a stable, but can if they feel safe enough. But if they ask to meet somewhere besides the stable, the area is generally void of other people, so it can be the middle of a field somewhere, an abandoned building, closed construction site, back alley, etc... The judge is typically the head of the gang or a respected and trusted underling.
They will then watch you take your Sindow through the basic obedience commands, sit, stay, and come. They will also watch the Sindow being led, tacked up, and ridden (if Standard, Draft, Variant, or Gigan). After this is all said and done, the judge will preform an inspection themselves by going around and touching the Sindows face, lifting gums, touching near the eyes/ears, and checking the paws/feet of the Sindow to get a general sense of their attitude and soundness.
You will decide which command you want to illustrate from the list below.
Sit
Stay
Come
Being Led
Being tacked up
Being Ridden (only for Standard, Draft, Variant, or Gigan)
Judge's inspection
The Aptitude Test: This test is meant to find what skill your Sindow excels in.
The Aptitude test is performed in the same manner as the above judging. The SREA or street judge will go out to your stable and observe, or street Sindows can go to an area the gang specifies. The Aptitude test implies that your Sindow will be finding something it's good at. The Judge will observe your Sindow running through a battery of tests centered around disciplines.
The tests are centered around testing the Sindows stats. They will go through tests in each stat to determine what they are best at. SO, you can choose to have your Sindows tests coincide with their stats or choose to have them coincide with their personality. Just remember that if you pick a discipline that has the opposite of your Sindows highest stats, you'll have to build up the Sindows stats to do good in any shows/work days.
During the test, the Sindow goes through all stats, BUT you only have to choose ONE.
Stamina: Your Sindow/handler will run a marked course through the area they are on, either handlers stable if Official or determined area if street. They cannot stop and if they get through all checkpoints without stopping, their stamina is good. Avian's and Gigans do this in flight. Avian's of course are not ridden, but the handler must keep up with them.
Acuity: This is your Sindows smarts. It is faced with several puzzles. Unlocking a box with a treat in it, matching colored balls to the corresponding colored hoops, and counting using small bean bags. You may depict one of these. You may use your imagination with the treat box. Sindows are highly intelligent creatures and to some, these puzzles are all too easy.
Speed: Your Sindow is run down a straight stretch or sprint track at a dead sprint to see how fast it is. If Avian or Gigan, they will do this in flight.
Strength: Your Sindow is tested with weighted carts that it has to pull. Avian's and Gigan's will do this grounded like all other Sindows.
Agility: Your Sindow is run through an obstacle course that can either be a show jumping/agility arena or a cross country course. Avian's and Gigan's will do this in flight through an area set up for them with rings and things to avoid. Gigan's may do this through an area of terrain that has alot of obstacles for a big, flying creature to get around, like trees and mountains.
Patience: Your Sindow is told to stay in one area. The handler then walks around making noise and doing things, as well as rustling treats to entice the Sindow to move. The longer they stay, the better their patience.
OTHER INFORMATION
Yes, a handler needs to be at least 50% visible. Can be any half, upper or lower as long as it makes sense.
Because the handler is required, you cannot add the handler bonus to your art.
No, you don't have to draw the judges but can if you want to. If writing, you need to at least mention that there is a judge there.
Up to three! They must have at least 80% of the body showing. (It's okay if it's blocked by another Sindow, but it can't be just a face/neck coming in from the edge of the paper.)
Yes, as long as it's clear which one is which and that each image meets the requirements.
- Art must be bigger than 300 x 300 pixels
- Art must be colored or greyscale w/ a big enough background to set the scene
- Again, 50% of handler needs to be shown and 80% of Sindow(s) needs to be shown
- Writing must be 700 words or more
- Writing must clearly describe the situation and the discipline the Sindow is training for. Can be from anyone's point of view or have multiple points of view.
Each piece should have this information for each Sindow in the deviation description:

Name of Handler:
Since training is based on stats and genetic quality rather than art, you don't have to slave over an art piece to get a good score, so art quality and writing length only have to meet basic requirements. However, you can still put more effort into your art if you want more AP!
All Basic Training images get a bonus +5 AP added to their AP count!

Items/Bonus’s:
Career training is OPTIONAL however, it can decrease the chances of some bad RNG events during Shows and activities.
Each discipline has its own set of trainings. Some may be similar, but they still need to be done for that discipline. These images or writing pieces are not judged and do not have to be something you've slaved over for weeks. They give you access to the rest of your Sindows career as well as some bonus's!
If your Sindow has more than one discipline, you can complete Career training for each discipline it has and earn the singular rewards, once your Sindow has certain bonus’s, it will not earn them again. See the rewards section to see which ones they can earn again.
To get more detail on the discipline itself, go to the Getting Started page and click Disciplines
Requirements/Rules:
- you may depict up to 3 Sindows in your piece IF they have the same discipline
- If you only have one handler, the piece needs to make sense, for example, they are doing race training and you depict two Sindows. Both Sindows need a handler riding them. You can make up a random handler, just as long as it makes sense.
- At least 50% of the handler(s) must be shown. 80% of each Sindow must be shown.
- Art must be larger than 300 x 300 pixels
- Art must be colored and have enough of a background to show whats going on around the Sindow. (can be a clean sketch, doesn't need to be shaded)
- Writing must be more than 700 words
- AP count is for what you do, so if you make a more polished piece, it counts for more AP.
*If your trainings don't meet the requirements or have something not right, you will be asked to fix them before they are accepted.

Disability Basic Training
If your Sindow is born with a health issue (typically these are from inbreeding) you can complete disability basic training to allow them to be able to perform in shows and work days as well as other group activities. Please follow the prompts for your Sindows disability. Genetic Quality will have no bearing over this training, once all three images are done, the Sindow will pass.
Disabilities for Sindows are Blindness, Deafness, and Body Deformities. Depending on the body deformity riding the Sindow may not be possible. Disabilities are not bad, however for them to compete they most likely need extra work for them to do so.
There are THREE tiers to disability training and all need to be completed!
Storyline:
For storyline purposes, like basic training, an SREA or Mellavesa family official is typically present for the basic commands tier and riding/showing/working tier. However, they will not be present for the trust tier. Typically they take notes of things like this when the handler tells them at the basic commands tier.
The official will judge the Sindow on how well it responds to basic commands and how well it behaves during the last two tiers.
Trust Tier
Sindows with disabilities often have trouble trusting handlers and even other Sindows. Especially those who are deaf and blind.
Prompts:
Pick one of these prompts to complete the trust tier:
Prompts do not have to be completely perfectly, remember, you’re telling a Sindows story, so a Sindow may not perfectly walk out into the sun. They may cower or have a fit. You may depict them in any part of the process of the prompt. As the prompt is just the pinnacle moment in the Sindows story, but behind it all there has been weeks of work leading up to the pinnacle moment.
Outside: Some Sindows have either been kept in a stable their whole lives because of their disability OR they are afraid to go outside because they can’t see, hear, or move freely. Depict them mustering up the courage to step outside, actually stepping outside, or getting completely out of the stable. Handler does not have to be present for this prompt.
Other Sindows: Some are going to be wary of other Sindows. Either they’ve never met another Sindow or just haven’t had the confidence for it. Depict them meeting another Sindow (or trying to). Handler does not have to be present for this prompt.
People: New people, places, and things oh my. For some Sindows with disabilities, people haven’t been kind to them so it makes them wary or angry with their new people who want to help them. Depict them and their handler learning to trust one another. This can be in any way you please, i.e lots of food reward, through gentle petting and nurturing, or just the handler getting them out of the space. Handler (obviously) does have to be present for this prompt.
Basic Commands Tier:
Once your Sindow has found it’s happy place it can be more easily and comfortably taught basic commands.
The basic Sindow commands are: sit, stay, and come, but you can also depict leading or lunging.
Prompts:
These prompts specifically have to deal with the Sindows particular disability. If your Sindow has more than one disability, it needs to complete this tier for each disability is has.
Blindness: [Only Blind Sindows] Without sight, their hearing and touch is typically what is used for training. You will depict your Sindow learning the basic commands, but them being catered to your Sindows blindness. It is hard to illustrate sound, so this may just look like typical basic command training.
Deafness: [Only Deaf Sindows] Without their hearing they are very sight or touch oriented. You will depict your Sindow learning basic commands through hand signals or even colored objects.
Missing Limb: [only Sindows with missing or deformed limbs] If they have a prosthetic this may be them getting to learn how to do commands with the prosthetic and how it acts when they sit, stand, or run. You may also depict them without a prosthetic, learning to do these commands without the aid of the prosthetic can be trickier.
Spinal Deformity: [only Sindows with deformed spines] These Sindows may have issues with movement so you’ll depict them learning the basic commands and how it’s difficult for them. Some have trouble walking, some will have trouble sitting, it’s all up to you.
Riding or Showing/Working Tier:
For rideable species (Standard, Variant, Draft, and Gigan) you will complete the saddling and riding prompt. If you do not want your Sindow to be ridden, you can complete the small species prompt for Showing/working.
For Small species (Oriental, Draken, and Avian) you will complete the showing/working tier.
ANY rideable type Sindow with a Spinal deformity, they will complete the small species prompt, as they cannot be ridden, but they can do handicap halter shows or be used in therapy especially.
Prompts:
Prompts do not have to be completely perfectly, remember, you’re telling a Sindows story, so a Sindow may not perfectly walk out into the sun. They may cower or have a fit. You may depict them in any part of the process of the prompt. As the prompt is just the pinnacle moment in the Sindows story, but behind it all there has been weeks of work leading up to the pinnacle moment.
Saddling or Riding: You may depict your rideable species being saddled or ridden. As above, this can be any part of the process. They may not like being saddled or ridden, so it’s up to you what you depict.
Showing/Working: Smaller Sindows or those with spinal deformities are not going to be ridden (or any Sindow that is not going to be ridden). So you can depict them learning how to be shown in halter events OR learning how to meet people in hospitals, homes, and stables.

Official and Street Papers
Sometimes a Sindow is Streetbred brought into a home where it will be performing in Official competitions. It also goes the other way around. Sometimes, official Sindows are taken into street homes. In order for them to compete or breed in their respective new homes, they need the right paperwork to prove they are what they are.
Why would I need papers?
As explained above, if you are the owner of an official Sindow that you want to have participate in street events and lifestyle, you'll need to get it street papers in order to be accepted. The same is for just the opposite. If you have a street Sindow and you want it to participate in Official events and lifestyle, it needs official papers.
Can my Sindow be both Official and Street?
Yes! Technically, as soon as you get papers for the opposite lifestyle your Sindow can participate in both official and street events, but it's up to you just how you want their story to go.
When breeding, will my Sindows offspring be Official or Street if they have papers?
Lifestyle always originates from the Sire. If the sire was born official, but has street papers, the offspring will be street. If the sire was born street, but has official papers, the offspring will be official. The papers determine the offspring as they are the most ‘recent’ documentation of the Sindow.
Do I need to have Basic Training done in order to get papers?
No, you can get your papers at any time, no matter if you're buying them straight up or making art/writing for them.
If my Sindow has completed Basic Training as one lifestyle, do I have to complete it again once my Sindow has its papers for the other lifestyle?
No, Basic Training is completed in such a way that no matter what lifestyle the Sindow had while completing it, it will count.
Papers can be bought or you can complete a set of acclimating images for the Sindow in question. Sometimes they can even be earned from wishing pennies.
You will buy them with SC of course.
To buy, just go to the shop: The Sindow Shop
Price: 30,000 SC
- If buying papers, you do not get rewards, only the papers you bought. They are applied just like any item!
You can write or draw these pieces, there are only two! They must follow the prompts and meet the requirements below.
New Life: Your Sindow has to learn the hard way that those of different lifestyles are not always accepted. Often, Official handlers and Sindows are snooty to Sindows who have are streetbred and Street Sindows and handlers are downright mean to Officially bred Sindows and their handlers. You'll depict your Sindow/handler being picked on. OR you can depict your Sindow being rescued by or seeing it's handler for the first time and being brought out of the situation they were in to start a new life.
Point to Prove: A Sindow, now matter the breeding is a product of its handler. Depict your Sindow/Handler kicking ass in their new lifestyle, proving to those around them that the papers are only a formality and they were born for this. Storyline wise, they are observed by a panel of judges from the SREA or Mellavesa Family (depending on the side) while they are kicking ass in an official show or street event of some sort. Then afterwards they will be presented with their papers. You may depict any part of this.
