To get started in the group, you'll need to have a few basic things under your belt first! Follow along with the information here and you'll learn how to get your first Sindow by the end! This information is in combination with the Gameplay Systems. They go hand in hand so they may repeat information, but it's important you read through both!
Making a stable is one of the most important things in the group. Why? Because your stable dictates how many Sindows you can own, what you can do with those Sindows in the way of certain activities.
If you don’t want to make a stable, you can see if you can join an NPC stable (part of the founding families) or a player owned stable! More on this is below!
You can call it a stable, ranch, etc.... Street or Official lifestyle, you need a stable.
EVERYONE starts out with a BASIC 5 stall stable. Current members with already owned Sindows will start out with a basic stable (5, 10, or 20 stall) with a slot threshold that will cover how many designed Sindows they have. You will also get a geno barn. This barn holds your Geno's and has unlimited space, so you may hold as many Geno's in this barn as you please.
If you're new or do not own any Sindows, you should make a stable before you get any Sindows, so you can more easily keep track of your stable stalls vs Sindow numbers.
You may make up to TWO separate basic stables! After you have made your two, you have to level up at least one of them to make another basic stable. Your stables will be tracked by the SREA or Mellavesa family depending on the career you choose for your stable.
Basic stables start out with one level 1 paddock and 2 equipment slots.
Before you go making basic stables, just to get more free slots for more Sindows, please note that if a stable is obviously just being used as a holding pen for extra Sindows, you will be told to remove it. Your stable MUST have an active part in your storyline, meaning you RP with it. Rampant shuffling back and forth of Sindows from stables you own to make room will also be shut down as soon as it's noticed. How to move Sindows from stable to stable is listed below.
To make a stable, simply fill out this template and submit the journal to dA or keep it in google docs, weebly, etc.... It does not have to be kept on dA.
When you've made your stable, please submit to the Stable Journals folder in the group OR submit it to the Stables submissions chat in discord! It will then be reviewed by admin. If you do not, your stable is not officially registered and you need it to be in order to gain stable points etc... If there is something off about your stable journal when you submit, you will be made aware and are free to resubmit when the mistake has been corrected.
If you’ve forgotten to do either of these, your stable will be reviewed if and when you submit an activity.
If you have any specialized breed of Sindow (Oriental, Avian, Gigan, or Draken) you will need a special enclosure for every specialized breed you own. So, BEFORE you get an avian, you'll need to buy an Avian enclosure. More about these in stable slots below.
If you owned Sindows/had a stable PRIOR to January 2020 when the last stable change was implemented. You will be able to have a stable and any specialized breed enclosures to fit the amount of Sindows you currently own. However, your stable will still be basic and once you fill any open slots you have, you will have to level up your Stable to the correct level that allows you to buy a new stable/enclosure.
For example, my stable has the amount of stables/enclosures for a gold level stable. I do not have all the slots filled that would require a level up, but if I were to fill all of my current open slots, I would have to get my stable points to gold level before I’d be able to buy another barn/enclosure or get more Sindows.
To find out about Stable Points and how to earn them, go to the Gameplay Systems tab in the 'more' section of the drop down menu.
If you don't want to worry about this, don't worry about it. You do not have to have an additional career.
Once you've gotten a stable to gold level, you may choose to add an additional career to your Stable. Additional careers unlock special buildings as well as change the general purpose of your Stable.
Just remember that you have to have one handler at Advanced level to earn anything from the career. You may unlock your additional career without your handler being advanced, however, you won't be able to do anything associated with the career.
In order for you to earn anything from your Additional career, you have to have other users, not your personal characters, coming into your stable. Not necessarily have people joining your stable, but people using your specialty center in their training/working/showing etc…
Search and Rescue Center Specialist- Your handler has decided to delve into Search and Rescue. They have Sindows specifically trained in that discipline to go out and search for people in disasters.
Unlocks special training facility (you have to buy this) for Search and Rescue Sindows and handlers, you may allow people to train at your facility, earning them bonus stat points for the Search and Rescue Discipline. You may charge a price or do this for free. (Average is about 100 SC)
Every Sindow trained in S&R at your stable, meaning their CAREER TRAINING has taken place at your stable, gives you +1 Stable Point and +1 Career Point.
It gives the person training at your stable +1 bonus stat point in the S&R core stats.
They must state in their career training that they’ve completed it at your Stable.
You may create your own ‘badge’ or ‘certificate’ for Sindows trained at your facility that can be added to their items tab on their import.
Rehabilitation Center Specialist - This is a rehabilitation center for PEOPLE that therapy Sindows help. People who are able can come in and visit all kinds of Sindows as well as ride them. Sindows are also sent out to places to visit those who can't make it to the center.
Unlocks special rehabilitation facility (you have to buy this) for therapy sessions. You may allow people to train at your facility, earning them bonus stat points for the Therapy discipline. You may charge a price or do this for free. (Average is about 100 SC)
Every Sindow trained in Therapy at your stable, meaning their CAREER TRAINING has taken place at your stable, gives you +1 Stable Point and +1 Career Point.
They must state in their career training that they’ve completed it at your Stable.
It gives the person training at your stable +1 bonus stat point in the Therapy core stats.
Sucessful work day percent increased by 5% for all Therapy Sindows trained at your facility, including your own. You may create your own ‘badge’ or ‘certificate’ for Sindows trained at your facility that can be added to their items tab on their import.
Riding School Teacher - Your handler is an excellent rider. They have decided to open up their own school to teach others how to ride professionally. They may train other riders and both riders may earn bonus career points.
Unlocks special indoor and outdoor arena's (you have to buy a special arena) for teaching without being interrupted by others. You can also train others at your stable earning them and yourself bonus points.
Every Sindow that takes their CAREER TRAINING (any discipline besides S&R and Therapy) at your stable gives you +1 Stable Point and +1 Career Point.
They must state in their career training that they’ve completed it at your Stable.
It gives the person training at your stable +1 bonus stat point in the Therapy core stats.
This will give +1 in each core stat as a showing bonus that will only count for SHOWING.
You may create your own ‘badge’ or ‘certificate’ for Sindows trained at your facility that can be added to their items tab on their import.
These are the only additional careers that don't require your handler to be at advanced level or your stable to be at Gold level. You may start off as a Farm or a Vet Clinic.
These are specialized Stables from the start. Farms have the ability to raise crops and livestock. Vet clinics do not have to own Sindows, but can build their clinic from the ground up and heal other peoples Sindows.
These will be two very specialized and interactive modes of gameplay that I will concentrate on after I get all the basic information hammered out and the beta systems tested for basic group gameplay.
So, If you choose to be a vet or a farmer, you'll have to wait a little bit for your active systems, BUT you can level up your handlers and stables like normal until then. So your handler will be considered a rider, even if vet or farmer is listed as its career.
You get two equipment slots + the paddock you start off with and a Basic Stable can hold a max of 5 pieces of equipment. So you can buy two more equipment slots before you have to level up your stable.
Equipment slots are only bought through the shop or earned when your handler makes it to Superstar experience level!
You can level up equipment by using said equipment (making sure it's depicted in art/described in writing) when participating in showing and working. Each piece of equipment will give your Sindow or stable bonuses if depicted during a one of these activities.
Buy Stable Equipment in the Stable Shop
EQUIPMENT:
Equipment can be leveled up by depicting it in your Showing/Working pieces. I.e you race your Sindow on your Sprint Track. It doesn’t have to be anything special, but it should look the same in every piece.
Some equipment like the round pen, grooming bay, etc… aren’t needed for showing/working, but you can still level them up by completing images with them. There is a log specifically for them if you didn’t complete a training of some sort with them.
If you don't see a piece of equipment that associates with your discipline you either a) don't need the equipment, like hunting, it doesn't need a special course. Or b) the equipment is multipurpose. Like indoor arenas can be used for show jumping, reining, or small breed showing or agility and so on.
Owning a piece of equipment also allows you to hold shows for the public when your stable/handler reach a certain level!
Round Pen:
- Allows your Sindows to be lunged or trained in. It’s a good overall space to do any training in.
- You can depict your Sindow(s) in basic training here to level up the equipment without making a special piece.

Yes, if you want to use your Sindow, train, and show it! Handlers are an integral part of the Sindow group. They can choose careers as well and level up to give bonuses! In order to get these bonuses, etc.... your Handler needs a ref sheet. Please read below in order to see how to use your handler.
Generally, handler is used as a term to describe the main character that will be interacting with your Sindow(s). Character can be used in place of handler.
You can have more than one handler and characters that don't necessarily interact with the Sindows, but are a part of your story nonetheless. You ONLY need to make a ref sheet for a handler/character IF it's going to be shown with your Sindow(s) all the time and you want them to earn things for themselves, your Sindow(s), and your stable.
For Example: My main handler is Beltane, but Ragnar and Pike are riders at Beltane's stable and each have their own Sindows, so they will also have refs because I will be drawing them with their Sindows. Ragnar has family outside of the stables that may come into play, but they are just to add some spice to the story, not really use them to compete and such, so Ragnars family will not need refs.
So pretty much, if they are main characters and you want them to work with certain Sindows, they will need a ref.
No, but it must be bipedal (standing on two legs). In the time period of the group, humans are able to genetically alter themselves or alter themselves rather easily with plastic surgery. This allows any strange looking human, your own species, or anthropomorphic animal handlers. As long as it stands on two legs, it'll be accepted.
FERAL forms of handlers are NOT ALLOWED! I'm sorry if this upsets some people, but I can only make so much of this stuff make sense in my headworld as well, without changing the core of it. Handlers must be bi-pedal. (no feral, no taurs).
On a side note, if your handler has wings, extra arms, prehensile tail etc... you can draw them with their special features, but when using them in official (this is group prompted like training or shows, not the official lifestyle) art/writing, they cannot be flying beside their Sindow for example, they'll have to be riding or standing near it depending on what the piece calls for. They will not be able use their special features to any advantage and gain anything. But, you can write/draw them doing whatever they want in your own general art/stories.
The Sindow world takes place in modern day, but science and body modification has been sped up. There are no magic powers of any sort. So, if you have a handler/character that already has them, they cannot use them in the Sindow group.
Shapeshifting OC's are allowed, but you must choose a form for them to stay in. Shapeshifting is not possible in the Sindow world, so again, just choose a form for them to stay in.
Yes! Every piece of art you make that includes your handler with the handler being more than 50% visible (so no, a hand on the side of the picture doesn't count), you get +2 AP!.
This only counts for art because it's typically easier to write about your handler rather than draw it.
Your handler in general should naturally range between 4ft-7ft tall in order to care for and/or ride Sindows.
When drawing your Sindow and it's handler, please pay attention to scale. I don't care if your handler is 7ft tall, but if you draw it next to an Standard Sindow and that Standard is supposed to be adult, but it's only pictured coming up to the knees of the handler, then there are some serious issues going on here. If your handlers ref says their size and you’re constantly changing it because you're not paying attention to scale, don't just make the excuse that your handler changes size all the time because remember, shape-shifting is not possible in the Sindow world.
As long as it looks close, it's fine. You don't have to be exact. I just want the different types of Sindows to be the right size as well as some people seem surprised when they see the actual size difference. This size chart will be your best friend:
It's understandable if the handler or Sindow is as different ages when you draw/write about them, just make sure that it is clearly stated in the description or described well enough in the writing to make sure we know it's not just a careless mistake.
If the sizing/scale is off too much, you may not be granted full AP. Again, this is very, very off, like a mouse sized Avian with a normal handler or a monster sized handler riding a Gigan.
The Sindow universe is set in present day, but with technology being slightly advanced. So all clothing, accessories, and stuff like that should look fairly modern. BUT, they can literally wear anything they want, as people do nowadays as well, no matter what the fashion is culturally.
This will be the same for every handler that you have.
First, you'll need to make a ref. It can be written or drawn! But, no matter which method you choose, it must contain this information:
General Info:
Name:
Nicknames/Alias's: (optional)
Age:
Height:
Eye Color:
Hair Color:
Physical Appearance: (their body type, hair style, phyiscal features etc...)
General Attitude: (how they behave, personality traits etc...)
Backstory: (optional)
*If your ref is drawn, eye color, hair color, and physical appearance may be left out of the description as long as it is clearly shown in the ref
Career Info:
Career: Rider (this is default unless you choose something else, see the In-Game Career tab to choose another)
Career Points: 0
Level: Novice
Sindows they own: (optional)
All you have to do is submit it to the Handler Refs folder in the group. If it is accepted, then it is accepted. If your ref gets denied, it means you have to fix something and Admin will leave a comment on why and what needs to be fixed.
Official vs. Street
To choose an official career means your handler is generally a good person. They want to do things the right way and own Sindows who are registered as official Sindows. They will most likely want to participate in showing/eventing.
To choose a Street career can mean one of two things: Your handler is not a bad person, just someone who purchased a Sindow because it was cheap (or found it, etc) and is more interested in keeping it as a pet rather than a show animal. They live a generally lawful life, but just not interested in a truly official lifestyle, so they may partake in unofficial events for fun (not all street events are high stakes or dangerous, if could be just a show someone is holding for friends/fun). OR it can mean your handler is someone who doesn't like to follow rules/laws. They are the ones who enter the high stakes street events for the risk and reward.
Basic Careers:
Your handler can start out as one of these careers without having to be at a certain level! Each handler can have two basic careers without being at certain level. If you want to have another career, you must create another handler.
Rider - general overall handler and rider. They show/train Sindows.
Trainer - Specializes in training Sindows, may show on occasion, but typically just concentrates on training.
Farmer - Owns official Sindows, but doesn't make a point to show, instead they raise and produce livestock and use Sindows to help them with their daily tasks.
Vet - may own their own Sindows, but they don't have to. Vet's work with Sindows to heal them. This is the only career in which your handler doesn't have to own any Sindows, but still needs a ref IF you want them to be able to heal your Sindows.
Additional Official Careers:
Your handler must be at least Advanced and Stable must be at Gold level to change their career to or add one of these careers.
Search and Rescue Center Specialist- Your handler has decided to delve into Search and Rescue. They have Sindows specifically trained in that discipline to go out and search for people in disasters.
Rehabilitation Center Specialist - This is a rehabilitation center for PEOPLE that therapy Sindows help. People who are able can come in and visit all kinds of Sindows as well as ride. Sindows are also sent out to places to visit those who can't make it to the center.
Riding School Teacher - Your handler is an excellent rider. They have decided to open up their own school to teach others how to ride professionally. They may train other riders and both riders may earn bonus career points.
Each career gets different bonuses for things they complete. (SEE Handler Points in the Gameplay systems page) Some careers allow your handler to help others, which gives both parties bonuses. These bonuses can range from career points, SSP, Sindow coins, and so on.
Since the Veterinary career has a little extra to it, I've listed it separately for clarity!
You may create a Veterinarian ‘handler’ for your Stables! This is the only handler career where said handler does NOT need to own any Sindows personally, but they obviously can if you want them to. Whether or not they own Sindows is not going to affect their gameplay. They will work for your Stable. You must still make a handler ref for them as they will still gain career points that you can track and earn bonus’s with.
Your vet does not have to be a main character in your storyline. If they are not working with their personal Sindows to gain career points, they will earn career points when working on their career, being a vet. You do not have to draw/write about them until they are being used to treat/heal.
HOW TO USE YOUR VET:
The main point of having a vet character is that you will be able to heal your Sindows without having to use the group vet.
Healing with your personal vet works in two different ways depending on what you want to do. Unlike with the group vet, you won’t have to pay a fee for healing your Sindows. HOWEVER, you will still need healing items in your inventory!
Healing Items Only:
You may choose to heal your Sindow with ONLY the healing items in your inventory. These work like normal, healing the points that they are designated. It’s simple and easy, just submit to this LOG and reply with this information: Please only submit one Sindow to be healed at a time.
Link to the Import Sheet of the Sindow being healed:
Link to Vets Ref:
Item Using: (you don’t have to link, just state which vet item is being used. I.e x1 Healing injection. The item MUST be in your inventory)
Your vet earns +1 Career point for every healing like this!
Healing Image/Writing + Items:
If you want to gain more bonuses for your vet and potentially Sindow(s), you can include a healing image or writing piece! Again, you still need the correct healing items in your inventory.
What does this piece do that healing with just items doesn’t?
Your vet will earn +2 Career Points per piece and of course, the Sindow(s) depicted will earn the AP for the art/writing. With this you will also have a chance at earning vet items or a small SC bonus.
Art/Writing Requirements:
Art must be larger than 300x300 pixels
Art must be flat colored at least, lines can be sketchy
Does not need a background, but it must be clear it’s your vet healing the Sindow. Giving an injection, putting bandages on etc… you can make this image as detailed as you want to gain more AP!
Vet must be 100% visible, Sindow can be 50% visible.
You may depict up to two Sindows in the image.
Writing must be more than 600 words.
Vet Bonus’s:
Vet items are 50% off in the shop!
Please see the other cumulative bonus's in the HANDLER POINTS section of the GAMEPLAY SYSTEMS page.
Hiring Out your vet:
You may also hire out your vet. If people don’t want to create their own vet, you may hire out your services. You may charge a fee (this can be Sindow Coins, cash, breeding slots etc…). Just remember that people can create their own vet character, so if you’re charging a high dollar amount or more than the group vet no one is going to buy your vet services.
You can charge a fee and use your own items, or ask the person with the Sindow needing to be healed to supply their own.
When healing someone else’s Sindow, you can still choose which method of healing you want to do. If the other player wants the art option, THEY create the art with your vet. They want the service done, they create the art. Your vet earns the career points and it’s up to you/owner of the Sindow on who gets the rewards from the art piece if there are any.
The owner of the Sindow will submit the healing piece!
Submit healing pieces to this LOG with this information filled out:
Link to Import of Sindow(s) being healed:
Link to Vets Ref:
Link to Healing Piece:
If using a hired out vet, please tag said user so that they know this has been submitted.
Please state where earned rewards are going (to vet or to Sindow owner)
If you’re looking to hire a vet, you may make journals advertising this!
Farming is considered a special career because it also includes its own activity! It's listed separately for clarity. You must have a handler character that is a farmer in order to partake in the farming activity. You will also need farming equipment. Since it’s optional, you’ll have to buy farming equipment! Some equipement you will not have to buy (like plows, tractors etc…)
How much space for a farm you have depends on your stable level!
You can start your stable off as a farm with Sindows and crops, other livestock, etc… Sindows, much like horses, are a great help around the farm. Farmer’s do need to own at least one of their own Sindows, but can work with other Sindows at the stable.
You can purchase plants and livestock in the Farming Section of The Sindow Shop!
CROPS and LIVESTOCK and their uses!
Crops - Value: 50SC per plant
Corn, wheat, beans, potatoes
Livestock - sell for goods that are then used for crafting or trade in for SC
Chickens (eggs, meat): 1 doz Eggs Value: 50 SC, meat value: 100 SC per chicken
- eggs/meat can be crafted into Sindow food which will give Sindows boosts
Pigs (sm livestock-meat): Value: 500 SC per pig
- sell for SC, crafted into Sindow food
Sheep (sm livestock - meat, wool): Wool Value: 350 SC per bundle, Meat Value: 500 SC
- sell wool for SC, crafted into Sindow food
Dairy Cows (lg livestock milk): 1 SC per gallon of milk (calculated for 2000+ gallons of milk every set of farming images done)
- sell for SC, milk used for Sindow food
Beef Cows (lg livestock, meat, leather) - Meat Value: 2,000 SC, Leather Value: 1,500 SC
- sell for SC, use for Sindow food, use leather in crafting tack
You can trade your goods/meat in for SC at the TRADING STAND or use your goods to CRAFT with.
As it states above, you will need farming equipment in order to farm! What you can buy depends on the level of your stable! You will be able to purchase livestock / crops individually. Raise and grow what you like to get the goods you would like. Understandably, most farm work is done by equipment, etc… however, to make it fun for the group and having another activity to do with your Sindows, the way farming works will be a little old fashioned. Most of it is done small scale and you’ll be depicting your farmers Sindow(s) doing the work to raise the livestock and grow the crops.
Farming is a good way to supplement your income! You will trade in items like you do the items in exploring.
You can buy the farming equipment in the Stable Shop! Find out how to complete Farming pieces to grow your crops and raise your livestock in the Activities Menu.

There are many ways you can get your first Sindow. You can choose which option you'd like to use.
The Creation Lab allows you to create your first Sindow for free! There are stipulations of course, so please make sure you read carefully.
Build your own Sindow! You'll need Sindow coins or cash to do so!
You can buy or earn slots to starters! You can earn your first starter slot by getting a Newbie Starter Pack!
You can pick a geno for FREE if it's your first one! You can also trade in your Cryo Eggs for Geno's or drop off your unwated genos!
Draw or write about the Sindow you'd like to adopt. Depending on the Sindow it may take a few chances to adopt.
A discipline is like a job for your Sindow! You don't have to pick a discipline if you do not want to, especially if you just want your Sindow to be a general pet to go on rides and be there for companionship.
Firstly, they are divided by Sindow type, so PLEASE pay attention to your Sindows type and if they can have that discipline.
Disciplines are divided into four categories, Official or Unofficial (street) and Showing or Working. Depending on the type of lifestyle your Sindow has and what you want it to take part in, you can choose how many disciplines you want!
Showing Disciplines vs. Working disciplines: Showing disciplines are for show purposes only, like racing, steeplechase, halter etc... Working disciplines are where work is actually done, like Therapy, police work, etc...
Below are ALL the disciplines available with their core stats shown!
Official Showing Disciplines:
CLASSICAL DISCIPLINES
Sprint Racing: [Associated with Speed, Strength, Agility] Sindow sprint racing is done down a long straight stretch. The sprint track is not circular and typically is made out of dirt, but some have grass/turf while others can have sand. Sindows are lined up in a racing gate just like horses are and when that gate opens, they full on sprint to the finish line. Sprint Tracks have different lengths, 100, 200, and 300 yard tracks. You may specialize your Sindow in certain lengths or track types as sprinting on grass is not like sprinting on grass/turf. Tack is light but durable.
Cross Country: [Associated with Speed, Stamina, and Agility] Just like horse cross country, your Sindow will make it’s way around a course that involves many obstacles including water ones. These courses are more spread out than Show Jumping and the obstacles are not as specific. Cross country is typically always held in outdoor courses.
Dressage: [Associated with Patience, Acuity, Agility] Just like horse dressage, it's about the bond between rider and Sindow. They perform meticulous tasks and gaits to get the best score. Events can take place in indoor arenas or outdoor arenas. Sindows should be trained in both indoor and outdoor arenas to get used to each.
Show Jumping: [Associated with Speed, Agility, Strength] Just like show jumping in horses, the Sindow must leap over different jumps. Sindows are built differently than horses, their jumping skills far exceed their equine ancestors thanks to the big cat DNA in their blood. Show Jumping obstacles can be quite high, upwards of 7-8 ft and they can be quite long too (or made up of many jumps to make one). Show Jumping events can be held in indoor out outdoor arenas, Sindows should be trained in both to get used to them.
Steeplechase: [Associated with Strength, Agility, Speed, Acuity] It is a combination of racing and jumping. It’s fast like a sprint race, but competitors have to clear objects such as hedges, fences, and ditch. Tracks are typically in open fields and made of grass/turf. With Sindows, Steeplechase tracks can be round races or straight stretches. The jumps are typically at even distances. The Sindows are judged on how well they make the jumps, they are just obstacles to get over to see who can reach the finish line the fastest.
Halter: [Associated with Patience, Acuity] Halter is all about your Sindow looking pretty. It also has to have good conformation and behavior. It's just like halter class with horses. They make their way around the ring, performing several gates, they stop for a judge to examine them. There is only the handler leading them around and they typically only have a halter on. Halter can be done in indoor and outdoor arenas.
Liberty: [Associated with Patience, Acuity, Agility] Liberty is a discipline where the Sindow is without tack. The handler must then guide the horse through different gaits, moves, and tricks without the use of tack. Generally the handler is only equipped with a long whip. It's about a bond between Sindow and handler, where the Sindow reads their commands without needing tack.
Pulling: [Associated with Strength, Stamina, Speed] Pulling loads of cinderblocks or any sort of weights of increasing weight. Done singularly, this is a test of strength for any draft. The Sindow to pull the farthest in the shortest amount of time wins. Despite Draft Sindows being disciplined in this primarily, Standard and Variants Sindows may also enter pulling competitions. Of course, the breeds will be separated and load weight is different. Pulling can be done in indoor and outdoor arenas.
Pleasure Driving: [Associated with Patience, Acuity, Strength] Done singularly or in teams of up to 4, Drafts (or Standards/Variants, but drafts and standards/variants are never on the same team, typically Sindows of the same color and breed are used) are attached to carts varying in size. They are judged on behavior, performance, and overall appearance of the horses, driver, and cart as they move through different gaits while pulling the cart (this is typically in singular pleasure Driving).
WESTERN DISCIPLINES
Endurance Racing: [Associated with Stamina, Strength, Agility, Speed] Endurance racing for Sindows behaves just like horse endurance racing. Competitors go through a course that takes days to complete. These courses are normally through tough terrain and always held outdoors. There are check in stations along the way. Some courses are longer than others and most events will have beginner courses for those who are still inexperienced riders that last a few hours rather than days. Typically check ins are held every so many miles and have tents/food/drinks/vet care or the checkpoint is at a neighboring stable etc... to allow small breaks for Sindow/rider before they head on. When the pair checks in overnight, there is a scheduled start time in the morning for everyone who made it there overnight so no one cheats and heads out early.
Barrel Racing: [Associated with Agility, Speed, Strength] Just like horse barrel racing, but the arena is a little bigger. Events can take place outside or inside, but a Sindow still has to go around three barrels in the fastest time with the lowest amount of faults to win. Barrels must remain upright and if knocked down or touched, it's a penalty for the pair. Sindows should be trained in both outdoor and indoor arenas to get used to each.
Reining: [Associated with Agility, Strength, Acuity, Patience] Rough and tough, reining involves a great bond between rider and Sindow as well to complete different tasks and moves. Done in arenas with sandy floors, your Sindow and handler will complete different gates, turns, and spins. Typically reining is done inside, but can be done outside as well.
Cow Sorting: [Acuity, Speed, Agility]: two people on Sindows are in charge of sorting cows out of one big group of 10. You stand in a pen of two connected pens. One person is in charge of getting the selected cow through to the other pen, and the other person is in charge of keeping all the incorrect cows out (they stand and block at the center of where the two pens meet). The cows wear neck collars that are numbered 0-9. The first cow number is announced, and then you must sort the cows by number (for example if 3 is called, you sort 3,4,5,6,7,8,9,0,1,2) You have two minutes to sort as many cows as possible. People are allowed to sort twice for their score average. Suggested by Stripe13
Cutting:[Associated with Agility, Stamina, Acuity, and Strength]: A Sindow and Rider work together in front of a panel of judges to show their skill in handling a cow. The point of cutting is to keep a cow separated from the herd. The best Sindows to use for cutting are those with low prey drive or those who would much rather listen to their handler. The arena is filled with a small herd of young cattle and several other riders to keep the other cows maintained. With cutting, the Sindow must let to cut a cow from the edge and deep within the herd. The Sindow is then given slack, and pretty much allowed to keep the cow from joining the herd on its own, that's why Sindows with 'cow sense' are most prized, they can read the cow without trying to attack it. Suggested by Stripe13
Reined Cow: [Associated with Acuity, Agility, and Stamina]: In this discipline, Sindow and rider work a single cow around an arena, performing specific moves with and around the cow. This discipline will only have one cow and one Sindow/Rider. They will typically run through the arena with a routine before the cow is let into the arena. They are judged on the ability to control the cow as well as the horses agility and ability to listen to the handler. Suggested by Stripe13
Team Penning:[Associated with Endurance, Speed, Acuity, and Agility]: Team penning involves a team of two to three Sindows and their riders and their ability to sort marked cattle (always young cattle) from the herd in a set time limit (60-90 seconds). The cattle are marked with numbers and that number is called out and each member of the team must work to cut a cow with said number from the herd and then herd the sorted cattle into the designated pen AFTER each team member has sorted the cow with the said number. Suggested by Stripe13
Breakaway (Calf) Roping: [Associated with Speed, Agility, and Patience]: Calf roping involves a single Sindow and handler team. The calf is released from a separate gate while the Sindow and rider are in a separate gate. The Sindow/Rider gate is blocked by a spring loaded rope called the barrier. The calf is released first to give a headstart and then the Sindow/rider are released. The rider must lasso the calf, but they do not have to get down and tied it up. The lasso breaks free after the calf is far enough away. This is done in the fastest time possible. Suggested by Ghostcat476
Official Working Disciplines:
Search and Rescue: [Associated with Strength, Acuity, Stamina, Patience] These Sindows are called in when disasters strike. Sindows have a profound sense of smell and great eyesight, making them great at finding people lost under rubble. Usually it's a team of Sindows with smaller, lighter varieties going into the rubble and larger varieties carrying victims to safe points. Suggested by xWolfwingx
Therapy: [Associated with Patience, Acuity ] Just like other animals, Sindows make great companions. Big or small, they may light up someone's day. Whether it's teaching disabled kids how to ride or visiting nursing homes and hospitals to bring a smile to someone's face, Sindows of all shapes and sizes are working as therapy Sindows. Suggested by TalonV
Police Mount: [Associated with Strength, Acuity, Patience] Just as horses can be used as police mounts, Sindow's can too. People might not cower in front of a horse, but some might in front of a Sindow. They have keener eyes, ears, and noses, so criminals better watch out. Suggested by xWolfwingx
Security: [Associated with Acuity, Speed, Strength, and Patience] These Sindows are specifically trained to work security. They are posted outside of peoples houses or within convoys to help keep the person or object they are protecting safe. This discipline can range to all breeds of Sindow. Larger breeds are typically kept on grounds of said persons home or objects place. They do patrols and have a keen eye. Smaller breeds like Drakens and Avians may travel with the person or object (used much like guard dogs) to keep the place secure. Suggested by ToxicFriu
Sport Hunting [ Associated with Acuity, Speed, Agility, Strength] - Sport hunting is done singularly and events are held in the country in places such as meadows, fields, and forests. The prey is designated, typically it's rabbit, fox, squirrel, or quail, before the Sindow enters the hunting area. With Standards, Variants, and Drafts, they are ridden. Hunting events have set time limits. The Sindow must bring back the correct prey within 3 hours. SOME events are held with fake animals, hiding objects with the animals scent on it, if people are sensitive about hunting real animals.
Street Showing Disciplines:
Street Racing: [Associated with Speed, Strength, Agility] Street Racing includes all types of Sindow. Street racing is done illegally of coarse and when it comes to rideable Sindows, drafts, variants, and standards, racing is typically done in a high stakes area such as city streets or grungy back alleys. Illegal racing for orientals and drakens is typically done somewhere where it is mostly hidden, underground arena's, country fields, etc.. The same thing goes for Avians.
Pit Fighting: [Associated with Strength, Stamina, Agility] Pit fighting is always done somewhere secluded, no matter the type. Two Sindows are put in a cage or a pit together and fight until one Sindow is too weak to continue. These fights can result in death as some people are quite cruel to their animals.
Street Working Disciplines
Hunting: [Associated with Acuity, Stamina, and Speed] Hunting animals illegally, hunting people illegally, it doesn't matter. Sindows are fine hunters and can be trained to hunt down people and animals alike. Bounty Hunters are fond of Sindows and their ability to track as well as hunt down targets.
Courier: [Associate with Speed, Acuity, Stamina] (I am in no way promoting drug use or the transportation of drugs, however, this is meant for story purposes.) Smaller Sindows, especially Avians, are used to transport drugs and other illegal items from place to place. These Sindows are highly prized and treated like royalty.
Body Guard: [Associated with Acuity, Speed, Strength, and Patience] These Sindows are specifically trained to work security. They are posted outside of peoples houses or within convoys to help keep the person or object they are protecting safe. This discipline can range to all breeds of Sindow. Larger breeds are typically kept on grounds of said persons home or objects place. They do patrols and have a keen eye. Official Showing Disciplines:
Timed Diving: [Associated with Speed, Agility, Stamina] There is are rings placed at the bottom of a pool and the Oriental must dive and get all the rings in the fastest amount of time. Diving is ALWAYS done in a manufactured pool that is raised above ground so that judges and other people can see the Oriental going to work. These pools are easily made so, they are more common in individual stables.
Depth Diving: [Associated with Stamina, Strength, Acuity] An Oriental Sindow can withstand the pressure of deep water, so whoever can dive to the lowest depth and retrieve the ring wins. Depth Diving can be done out in open ocean, but it is typically deemed too dangerous and special pools are built into the ground. These pools are typically round with a 10 foot diameter. The depth is up to the competition being held, sometimes up to 300 yards deep. These pools are typically at specialized centers OR at stables who have enough money and the space to build them. Handlers may stay with them in the pool and dive to a certain depth of course.
Showing: [Associated with Acuity, Patience] Orientals are rarely put in halters, so I'm not going to consider this a Halter type discipline. They are judged on movement, conformation, health, and overall behavior and led around the ring. They are put into class sorted by coat length and markings. This is worked like a dog show. Orientals are filed into categories by base color and coat length. Orientals from each class are picked for best in class and then these winners are put against each other for best in show.
Racing: [Associated with Speed, Agility, Strength] They are pretty swift on land and in water. The track consists of a land stretch and a water stretch. It is fenced in and much like greyhound racing. It's typically straight and has at least 50 yards of land and 60 yards of water. They are put into a gate and this is without handlers. They are trained to run the race, typically by following a lure, without handlers being right there. Handlers will start with them at the gate and meet them at the end. These tracks are common at individual stables, but most competitions are held at specialized centers.
Agility: [Associated with Agility, Speed, Strength] Much like dog agility, an Oriental must run alongside their handler and maneuver obstacles in both land and water. The handler will run along side the oriental as it moves through the land obstacles, like jumps and a frames. In the water portion they will typically stand at the edge of the wading pool, but may swim beside their Oriental if they please. These tracks are common at individual stables, but most competitions are held at specialized centers. Thanks to a long tail, things like weave poles are not added.

Showing [Associated with Acuity, Patience] - They are led around a ring, just like that of dog showing and are lifted onto a table for the judge to get a better look at them. They are judged on their behavior, health, and conformation. They are sorted into classes for coat length and base color. Winners of these individual classes are then judged for best in show.
Agility [Associated with Agility, Speed, Strength] They must follow the handler around a set course, just like that in dog agility. Due to the fact that they have horns, things with tubes and rings as well as weave poles are not placed in the arena.
Racing [Associated with Speed, Agility, Strength] - In smaller race tracks, like that in greyhound racing, they are set loose to race around the track. They wear typically wear some sort of colored identifier, like a silk blanket connected at the chest and stomach. These races can be on round or straight tracks.
Sport Hunting [ Associated with Acuity, Speed, Agility, Strength] - Draken hunting is done singularly and events are held in the country in places such as meadows, fields, and forests. The prey is designated, typically it's rabbit, fox, squirrel, or quail, before the Draken enters the hunting area. They will wear vests with a radio transmitter so they can be tracked. Showing: [Associated with Acuity, Patience] This is just like a dog or cat show. They are inspected for overall conformation, behavior, and health. They are also asked to fly from one table to another to show that their wings are in perfect order as well. They are typically NOT led around the ring, but just asked to walk a certain distance in front of the judge.
Airgility: [Associated with Agility, Speed, Strength] Like dog agility, but in the air. They have to fly through hoops and perform a variety of aerobatic tricks as well, like hovering, twisting or flipping in the air, and aimed diving. The handler will run beside them, giving them their cues from beside or below.
Racing: [Speed, Agility, Strength] Designated tracks are set up. Since Avian's can fly and run on the ground, the race is set up in two parts, flying and running. There are checkpoint hoops to fly through and checkpoints on the ground to meet. If they miss a check point, they get points docked. This is to make sure no one is cheating. Handlers are kept outside the track fences, using calls, whistles etc.. to keep their Avian's going.

Avians are small and silent fliers, and often sent in equipped with vests and POV cameras into criminal hide outs. They can also be trained to sniff for drugs and bombs. Avians are also used to chase down criminals, however, they are smaller and lighter than the Draken and not used as often. However, if something the size of a housecat were to hit you at a high rate of speed and blind you with teeth and claws, you might stop running as well.

Official Showing Disciplines:
Diving: [Associated with Speed, Agility, and Strength] This is a discipline that needs a strong bond between handler and Sindow. The team will fly to great heights and then turn at the very apex of their ascent. Typically it is the highest the Sindow can fly without oxygen or icing being a problem. Then then turn and plummet in a nose dive toward the ground as fast as they can go. At the very end of their dive, they are to fly through a large open 'goal' or 'gate', to finish the dive. It just judged on top speed and accuracy.
Sky Racing [Associated with Speed, Strength, Stamina] This discipline is like normal racing, however, it is done completely in the air, with the Sindows feet only touching the ground in any form when things get a little rough. The track is set up with checkpoints that can be reached from the air. These checkpoints have flags. If a flag is missed, the Sindow and rider are disqualified.
Fishing [Associated with Patience, Acuity, and Speed] Gigan's are great at fishing, they love it. It was turned into a discipline when someone decided to make it a competition. Most of the time, it is done around the ocean or a large lake or river with fish big enough for the Gigan to catch without a problem. A type of fish and a time limit is given and the pair has to catch the fish in order to qualify. Competitions can be held with fake fish (robo-fishies) if no real fish are desired or present. So the 'type' of fish or time limit rules may be changed to accommodate this.
Acrobatics [Associated with Agility, Patience, and Strength] This is kind of like airgility for Avians, but there is a rider present, typically harnessed in on the saddle. The team must perform sets of acrobatics in the sky and on land. Obstacles are set up for them to avoid. They are judged by how well they perform their tricks in the time given.
Survival Trekking [Associated with Stamina, Strength, and Acuity] Sindow and rider must follow a course with checkpoints, checking in each night or every several days in order to keep going. This is a long survival treck, kind of like Endurance racing, but not as easy, the courses lasting weeks at a time. It's a test for both Sindow and rider. Sometimes checkpoints are out in the middle of nowhere, as tents that provide meals for both Sindow and rider and vet care. Sometimes checkpoints are stables.
Official Working Disciplines:
Search and Rescue [Associated with Strength, Acuity, Stamina, Patience] Gigan's are rather large, but it's their aerial ability that really helps with Search and Rescue. They can get into places that helicopters can't and rescue stranded people, since they can carry several at a time. They can spot things from high up and alert ground crews as to where people are. They can also help move large bits of rubble or debris to get people out.
Security: [Associated with Acuity, Speed, Strength, and Patience] These Sindows are specifically trained to work security. They are posted outside of peoples houses to guard people or objects. Gigans, since they are so large, are not sent out if this person or object goes mobile. They are typically kept on the property and give a big old f*ck off to anyone who wants to try something. Tack is the equipment you put on your Sindow, like saddles, collars, bridles, blankets, and lead ropes.
Of course! At any time, you can make tack for your Sindow (or have someone else). However, unless it has been blessed in the Wishing Well and earned stat points, it will not have any stat points.
There are no limits on the type of tack you can make. Make armor, make western, english, or racing tack. You can make renaissance themed tack, tack themed from your favorite superhero/villain, tribal tack. It's basically anything you want.
Tack and Accessories are not the same.
Tack vs Accessories:
Tack is typically large items or equipment that is used for the Sindows discipline. This includes any type of protection like leg guards or blankets for warmth/traveling. Collars are considered tack as well.
Accessories are things that make the Sindow look pretty, but don't have any use otherwise. Earrings, necklaces, decorative capes, bracelets, and any other purely decorative adornment that is not part of a saddle, bridle, blanket or any other tack is considered an accessory. Accessories are free to make and add, but only small accessories are allowed on the official import. You can learn more about this here: Design Add-Ons
Accessories are not allowed to be dipped in the wishing well. If you're not sure if something is considered tack or an accessory just ask!
Can I draw my tack on my Sindows import?
Not the officially uploaded one. Only small accessories are allowed on the official import to prevent the Sindows design from being covered.
You may make your own tack sheet, like this:
or draw it right on the lines, like this:
you can also draw it right over the design!
You can add a link to their tack set or accessory sheet in the import sheet or just link it under the LOG comment, where the tracker journal goes as well. But you do not have to do this, you can simply leave it in the Sindow's tracker journal as well.
The big difference is stat points.
Shop tack comes with stat points that act as a constant boost for your Sindow and they act more like items than actual tack. So, if you have shop tack you can draw that on your Sindow or draw your user made tack set and have the store tack as items. It's up to you.
The shop items DO NOT have to be the ones shown on the Sindow. You can draw any tack on your Sindow. The shop task is designated as an item and equipped to the import sheet to give bonuses.
No, Admin must do that for you. And user made tack is only equipped as an item if it has been blessed with Stat points in the wishing well.
You can have shop tack and user made tack equipped to your Sindow, but you will only be able to have ONE of each type for both. So in the shop there are brown leather saddles and black leather saddles. You’ll only be able to have one of those AND one dipped user tack. So one shop saddle and one user made saddle.
You may make multiple sets of tack for your Sindow for different disiplines, HOWEVER you can only dip ONE whole set of tack. This makes it so people don't have 5 sets of tack for the same Sindow and get a bunch of stat points without doing any actual work with the Sindow.
- Each piece of tack will be dipped separately. If you have it on a big sheet, no need to submit separately, we will just roll each piece separately.
- Each piece of tack has a 50% chance at getting stat points. It will earn 1-6 stat points in 1-3 stat categories. (more on how this works in the wishing well journal under the tack dipping section).
