This Privacy Policy explains how Simple Day Book ("the App", "we", "us") handles information when you use the App on your iPad.
Simple Day Book is designed to keep your diary content on your own device. We do not operate any servers that collect or store your diary entries, and we do not sell or share your personal information with third parties.
Diary content. Everything you create in Simple Day Book, including handwritten notes, typed text, images, timetable information, and class tags, is stored locally on your iPad using Apple's on-device storage technology. We do not have access to this content.
Timetable imports. If you import a timetable file (such as an Edval CSV export), that file is processed entirely on your device and is not transmitted to us.
Device storage and backups. If you use Apple's iCloud Backup or Files app to back up or sync your device, your diary data may be included in that backup. This is governed by Apple's own privacy policy, not ours.
Optional biometric lock. If you choose to lock a diary with Face ID or Touch ID, authentication is handled entirely by Apple's system frameworks. We never receive or store your biometric data.
We do not collect analytics, usage statistics, advertising identifiers, or location data. We do not require you to create an account, and we do not collect your name, email address, or any other personal identifier to use the App.
Because your diary content stays on your device, it is used only to display your diaries back to you within the App, and to generate exports (such as PDFs) that you choose to create.
We do not share, sell, or transmit your diary content to any third party. If you choose to export a diary as a PDF and share it yourself (for example by email or AirDrop), that sharing is controlled entirely by you through Apple's standard share sheet.
Simple Day Book is intended for use by teachers and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your diary data benefits from the standard security protections built into iPadOS, including device encryption and, if enabled, the optional Face ID or Touch ID lock within the App.
Because all data is stored locally, you are always in control of it. You can delete a diary at any time from within the App, which permanently removes its contents from your device. Deleting the App itself will remove all associated data, except for any copies included in a separate device backup.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
