HOW DOES SMTF SUPPORT TECHNOLOGY AT SIMONDS?

SMTF is funding technology and science through financial contributions from Simonds' families and friends, the local community, and area companies. SMTF purchases technology-related products that are used by teachers and students in the classrooms for instruction, projects and research.

SCIENCE FUNDS

• Weekly science classes for all grades via Mad Science

TECHNOLOGY FUNDS

SMTF collects funds to purchase technology-related products such as the following:

• MacBooks and carts

• Chromebooks and carts

• iPads and carts

• Docu Cameras and lightbulbs

• Color printers and ink

• Ink for photocopiers

• Software licenses for programs like EduTyping

• Sound system for the school cafeteria

• Computer assessories, including mice, headphones, cables

All students have the opportunity to use the many devices available to learn, research, create, and experiment daily. SMTF also purchased software like the following:

• Kid-Pix

• TenMarks (math)

• Ticket to Read

• Raz-Kids

• EduTyping

• Achieve 3000

• Google Suite (Google Docs/Slides)

• Microsoft Suite (Word/PowerPoint)

Thanks to financial donations, the students are taking advantage of these many tools to develop their analytic and creative skills!
