Sigma Security Group is an international PMC ARMA 3 unit with members of differing world views, creeds, and backgrounds. We recognize that different experiences add value in different ways. As such, we are not specific to one military’s tactic or doctrine. However, we aim to emulate authentic tactics and procedures within the context of the game's systems while avoiding unnecessary complexity.
While we strive to perform at the highest levels of professionalism, we mustn't lose sight of our true goal which is entertainment. As such, we are a military simulation group that does not mandate attendance . Barring our initial barrier to entry, no other training will ever be mandated.
What is a PMC Unit?
PMC - A Private military company (PMC) is a private company providing armed combat or security services for financial gain. PMCs refer to their staff as "security contractors" or "private military contractors".
The services and expertise offered by PMCs are typically similar to those of governmental security, military or police forces, most often on a smaller scale. While PMCs often provide services to train or supplement official armed forces in service of governments, they can also be employed by private companies to provide bodyguards for key staff or protection of company premises, especially in hostile territories.
"To create and foster a positive mentorship and learning environment in a PMC-themed military simulation unit that balances professionalism, authentic tactics, and entertainment "
Listed below are our main goals for our unit that we intend for all our members to be on the same page about. These mission goals provide all members whether new or returning the same experience that we wish to have at the forefront--the same experience that brought all our members together in the first place. You as member of Sigma will be required to uphold both the rules of our charter, as stated in Unit Charter (Rules) and our mission goals here.
A Learning Environment: Individual commitment to learning and self-improvement is the most important aspect of being a member of this unit. Set goals for yourself and utilize the resources and training we have available to meet those goals. Push to improve yourself, address areas of improvement by making changes based on feedback you are given, and provide constructive feedback for others.
Accessibility: We strive to maintain a low barrier to entry. Players with and without Arma experience should be able to participate without significant training or time commitment. Additionally, staff and senior members should remain approachable for any concerns.
Leadership: Positive leadership is expected at all levels of our unit. Senior members are to mentor and coach our junior members by pushing them to achieve their goals. They are also expected to uphold and educate junior members on the Sigma rules and accepted standards or procedures without staff intervention. Lead by example.
Professionalism: As this is an 18+ unit. We expect professional and mature behavior in-game and on Discord. Maintain a professional attitude, immerse yourself in your selected role while in an operation, and act appropriately for the environment and setting.
Authenticity: We discourage reckless tactical decision making and want to promote calculated and careful decisions. We encourage realistic tactics, techniques, and procedures within the context of the game. Lives, equipment, and supplies are not expendable. Tactical knowledge and decision-making are required to achieve and maintain higher pay grades.
Commitment: We understand that this is just a video game, and as such you might not always be able to attend our operations. Real life always comes first. Operation attendance is not mandatory, and there will never be a penalty for being unable to attend an operation.
Entertainment: Above all else, the goal is for you and our members to have fun and enjoy yourselves within the confines of our mission and rules.
