Please keep in mind that the spirit of the rule is more important than the letter of the rule.
If you are allowed to do something, and doing that thing would make you a jackass, don’t do it.
Be respectful to everyone regardless of who they are or why they play. Flaming or abusing other players will not be tolerated. Personal attacks, racism, and other forms of discrimination will be punished without warning. Repeat violators will be subject to increasing penalties.
This is an 18+ unit. Respond to the environment and other players in an appropriate manner. When attending an operation, you are committing to a MILSIM setting and should act accordingly. Shooting in base, climbing walls, cable-tying others, and any other memery is not tolerated behavior in our community.
Assist leaders in running operations smoothly and listen to and execute all instructions from leadership and staff; you may offer advice but not arguments. Only join operations if you can attend for the entire duration. Fill teams from top to bottom. Additional support teams must be approved by both Actual and the Curator. Real life comes first, but barring serious circumstances, attendance at AARs is mandatory.
Restrict communication to the appropriate channels and follow the respective channel descriptions. Keep all AAR points constructive and in the Command channel. Only use pings when hosting unit functions. Misuse of pings will result in those privileges being removed. Discussion of politics and divisive topics (racism, gun control, religion, abortion etc) is explicitly banned, , as are the use of sound pads, voice changers, and playing music during operations. Mentioning or linking any other ARMA 3 units in any Sigma community platform (servers or discord) is not allowed. Be in Deployed while on the server for any reason.
Create, maintain, and always promote a friendly and professional environment for all users. Welcome and assist new members, submit suggestions, and engage in constructive discussion on how to improve the community. Higher pay grades are held to a higher standard and are expected to know the charter. Staff must always exercise vigilance regarding their jurisdiction and powers.
Assume the character of your chosen role and immerse yourself in that role. Act in an effective and appropriate fashion based on the environment you are in. Use context-appropriate equipment and avoid the use of in-game text-chat. Kits in-game are limited to a maximum of 50kg with a recommended 40kg optimal weight.
Context-appropriate equipment:
- Avoid bright colors or high-visibility attire
- Avoid non-military kit e.g. VR glasses, hard-hats
- Avoid dressing like the enemy faction
- Avoid non-era-appropriate kit e.g. M1 Garand
- Avoid "meme gear" e.g. anime patches, pink vests
- If you wouldn't take it into combat, don't take it on an operation.
