Rethinking Housing

The design consist of partial additional space and full retrofit of an existing society in Borivali called Bhaktiyog. People belonging to 50 -70 age groups live in it. The intention was create pockets of interactive and overlooking spaces. Different house layouts were explored for different families and a community food court is also designed above the buildings.

The floor plans shows different variations of layout according to the people's need.

The community food court was thought to be made with lightweight materials like Coir wood panels or Eko panel boards which are sustainable and resistant to harsh climates. The north light truss idea is adopted to take in a good amount of calm sun light.
