The goal of this annotated bibliography is to expand upon existing research while providing a summary and convenient access to other sources for readers. In this assignment, the sources were arranged alphabetically in MLA format, with a 200-word summary for each source. Although the task can be tedious, repeating information can be necessary to ensure my audience fully understands the content. It is essential to remember that while the researcher may be knowledgeable about the topic, the audience may not be. Thus, repetition and clarification are necessary to ensure comprehension. The annotation serves as a brief summary of each source, highlighting its relevance to the research question and its credibility. By analyzing each source and its contribution to the topic, a more comprehensive understanding of the issue is achieved.
Once I had successfully collected the sources I intended to cite in my paper, I proceeded to create my annotated bibliography. This assignment introduced a new dimension to my research process, as I was now required not only to cite the sources but also to write reflections on them. Initially, I found this task to be rather tedious and often felt frustrated by the additional writing it entailed. To streamline my workload, I referred back to my research proposal and incorporated some of the content I had previously written about the sources. As my understanding and familiarity with the subject matter grew, this task became easier. I became more knowledgeable and confident in my ability to explain and analyze the concepts presented in the sources, making the process of creating the annotated bibliography more manageable.
