Through my high school and undergraduate years, I've had many wonderful friends, mentors, teachers, and people I could look up to that helped me out on my journey to where I am today. Thus, I have a strong sense of wanting to give back to the community in the best way I can - by helping out those after me in making the best out of their journeys. Here are a few of the steps I've taken towards this goal, some of which I hope to continue doing in the coming years.

Faculty at IOITC

In 2020 and 2021, I was part of the faculty for the Indian team selections of the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI). In this capacity, I proposed problems for the selection tests and stress tested the exam problems by writing multiple correct and incorrect solutions, validating the strength and correctness of the test cases and problem statements. Team India had a field day at the 2020 Olympiad, with two silver and two bronze medals. In 2021, we gained 2 silvers and a bronze.

Student Mentorship Program

From 2019-2021, I was a part of the Student Mentorship Program team at IIT Bombay. The Student Mentorship Program initiative aims to ensure a smooth transition to university life for first-year students by providing them with mentors. I mentored 14 first-year students in the departments of Electrical and Computer Science engineering. When first selected, I was one of only two students to be chosen before our program's final year for this role, and one out of thirteen across departments.

Department Mentorship Program

From 2019-2021, I was a part of the Electrical Department Mentorship Program at IIT Bombay. I managed the DAMP team website and worked with Academic Rehabilitation Program mentees to help them cope with their studies and plan their courses to complete their degree on time. Previously, I mentored 12 sophomore students, monitoring their academic progress and helping them stay in stride with the curriculum.

Teaching for Mathematical Olympiads

In 2018, I trained students for the early stages of the International Mathematical Olympiad selection in India. We had excellent results, with 14 of my students clearing the first stage (out of 374 students in Mumbai) and 6 passing the second stage (out of 35 in Mumbai). I taught at my ex-teachers mathematics academy.

Mathometer

As a high school student interested in spreading the love of Olympiad math to people who might not have enough entry-level resources for some topics of Olympiads, I founded a website where I asked for contributions from friends in the community and reviewed and posted them. Within the short-lived few months of its existence, we had over 25,000+ views on the site, thanks primarily to the Art of Problem Solving community. Currently, that number stands at above 50,000.
