Knowing how to freeze rows within a sheet is essential if you plan to sort your data. Additionally, freezing rows and columns helps to lock key data in place while allowing you to view the data that relates to it.
In this tutorial we will take a look at some visual adjustments you can make to a spreadsheet to customize the viewing experience. We will take a look at how to remove gridlines, apply alternating colors, and group rows together so that you can expand and collapse data depending on what you need to see. You'll also learn how to quickly see which cells contain formulas and if there any areas in a sheet that you are restricted from editing.
Sorting provides you with a different way to look at your data. Knowing how to sort can assist you with organzing data in your sheet.
Filtering provides you with alternate ways to display your data. Knowing how to filter can not only help you to organize data in your sheet, but allow you to easily print selected information and share data with colleagues.
Data slicers are another way to filter your data. A slicer is a simple button that you add to a sheet that allows you to filter a table or data set. It's an intuitive tool that allows users to manipulate data at a glance. In this video you will learn how to add slicers to your sheet and see how they can be used.
