Cells, rows, or columns can be formatted to change text or background color if they meet certain conditions. Conditional formatting is useful for highlighting cell data and helps aid visual analysis of your data. In this video you will see how to apply conditional formatting to text and numbers as well as get a glimpse of an advanced skill (formatting with a custom formula). Finally, at the end of the video, I'll show you a couple of ideas for creating self-grading assignments in Sheets using conditional formatting features.
Learn how to quickly split text into columns, remove duplicate entries, and trim whitespace from cells. You'll also see how Sheets can find and replace data automatically. These skills are essential for creating consistency within a data set which is especially important if you plan to use formulas or charts.
