A lifetime is a journey

Of many twists and turns

And no ones meant to stand alone

For we all crash and burn

But there are those who guide us

Those who make the time to care

Lift us from our deepest lows

Those real friends are truly rare

And every now and then

We find a special friend

The ones who really understand

On which we can depend

Yes every now and then

We reach beyond a star

For those who love us as we are

You know there’s safety in their arms

True friends may be few

That’s how it’s meant to be

So we don’t take for granted

The treasures we receive

Protect them from bitter tongues

Help to ease their inner pain

Give comfort in their darkest hour

Precious gems will shine again

And every now and then

We find a special friend

The ones who really understand

On which we can depend

Yes every now and then

We reach beyond a star

For those who love us as we are

You know there’s safety in their arms

There’ll always be saltbush on the breeze

Riding the west wind, Luring me with ease

Wherever I camp, In my dreams

There’ll always be saltbush on the breeze

The saltbush is reaching, almost to my stirrups

I can smell beefwoods, tonight in my dreams

I can see campfires and hear stockmen singing

And I hear the sounds of the cattle, it seems

At times when the wind’s in the west and this city

Its sleeping and stilled is the rattle of trains

In place of concrete and the tar and tall buildings

I am feeding a mob on the wide saltbush plains

And I can, high in the sky just at dawning

A brown falcon wheeling, to start his new day

And I’II always see stockmen, all dusty and bearded

When the western-born breezes come, blowing my way

Where I have all things of a family with money

That mansion with carpets and paintings on the walls

I would sooner a saddle, and stars for a ceiling

I would swap for a song, when that western wind calls

It's just another day out my window

Memories racing through my mind

There's gonna be some changes come tomorrow

We've spent too long wasting time

You don't believe in what I stand for

I can't forgive you though I've tried

We'll never bridge the gap between us

That's why I'm saying goodbye

Saying goodbye

There's no love to lose don't look behind you

We made sure of that some months ago

You don't look at life the way that I do

The river of love no longer flows

You don't believe in what I stand for

I can't forgive you though I've tried

We'll never bridge the gap between us

That's why I'm saying goodbye

Saying goodbye

You've been as cold as ice all through the summer

Except when your tempers rising high

Nothing can bridge the gap between us

That's why I'm saying goodbye

That's why I'm saying goodbye

That's why I'm saying goodbye

Saying goodbye

Album: Seasons - Shaza Leigh (2009)

Love can be likened to nature’s four seasons
Feelings may change for a number of reasons
Today is the start of the rest of our lives
And we’re sharing the seasons of love
The seasons of love

The first days of spring are so vibrant and new
All-consuming exciting enfolding you
a little confusing changing each day
some hearts risk losing their way
Then summers so warm love grows well in the light
But if hard times bring trouble love can take flight

Love can be likened to nature’s four seasons
Feelings may change for a number of reasons
Today is the start of the rest of our lives
And we’re sharing the seasons of love
The seasons of love

The love that is nurtured in autumns soft glow
Is one of respect as friendship does grow
as green leaves turn gold mixed with burgundy hues
there comes peace of mind on the path that we choose
but winter is coming with its chilling breeze
As we wait for the spring to melt the freeze

Love can be likened to nature’s four seasons
Feelings may change for a number of reasons
Today is the start of the rest of our lives
And we’re sharing the seasons of love
The seasons of love
The seasons of love
The seasons of love

Explorers of this nation extraordinary men

Open up the country and we remember them

The mighty feats of the camel forgotten now it seems

But the Ships of the Desert carried man beyond his dreams

Bullockys with bullock teams and teamsters with their horse

Made a vital contribution and played the part of course

But Australia's arid inland proved way beyond their means

The answer to the problem seemed to be the camel teams

Ships of the desert carried the load

Across this country before there were roads

They were the backbone of discovery

Ships of the desert made history

Late in 1840 the first camel reached our shores

And from India in '60 they imported 24

For Burke and Wills and others to fulfil their dreams

But the fates of the camel are forgotten now it seems

Mohammed was the captain of these ships of the land

And helped in the construction of the line they called the Ghan

From telegraph and railway lines to gold fields of the west

Until the 1920's when they put the teams to rest

Ships of the desert carried the load

Across this country before there were roads

They were the backbone of discovery

Ships of the desert made history

Ships of the desert carried the load

Across this country before there were roads

They were the backbone of discovery

Ships of the desert made history

They were the backbone of discovery

Ships of the desert made history

Album: My Way Of Life - Shaza Leigh  (2003)

Someone like you made the difference
when my days were darker than night

Someone like you lifted someone like me
just asking if I was alright

When the rest of the world took the fight out of me
and everything seemed to go wrong

A kind smiling face put me back in the race
and gave me the words of this song

You are the brother and sister of man

You hold the power of love in your hands

I thought it all over and I know that it's true

A smile made a difference from a stranger like you

Yes a smile makes the difference from a stranger like you

I walked with the lost and forgotten
their worlds not like yours and mine

Someone like you made the difference to me
with words so thoughtful and kind

These eyes that were blinded could see a new dawn
the lost and the lonely are gone

The kind words you found have turned me around
and gave me the strength to go on

You are the brother and sister of man

You hold the power of love in your hands

I thought it all over and I know that it's true

A smile made a difference from a stranger like you

Yes a smile makes the difference from a stranger like you

I stood in the dark fields of sorrow
where the sun and the moon couldn't shine

Someone like you gave the faith back to me
I thought I had lost for all time

When the last of the flowers had withered and died
it now makes no difference to me

For someone like you had a message so true
of faith hope and eternity

You are the brother and sister of man

You hold the power of love in your hands

I thought it all over and I know that it's true

A smile made a difference from a stranger like you

Yes a smile makes the difference from a stranger like you

Sometimes love, can mask our inner pain
Sometimes love, can reach out time and time again
Sometimes love, can lift us, when life feels too tough
And sometimes love, is just not enough

Sometimes I, can hold you and see the real smile
Sometimes I, can love you and know it’s all worthwhile
Sometimes I, can show you, the road is not that rough
And sometimes I, am just not enough

Sometimes you, can see me for who I really am
Sometimes you, can teach me, to be all that I can
Sometimes you, can help me let go of crazy stuff
And sometimes you, are just not enough

Sometimes love, will hide our deepest pain
Sometimes love, will raise us beyond the hurt again
Sometimes love, will show us, that path not too rough
But sometimes love, is just not enough

No sometimes love, is just not enough
Yes sometimes, enough’s enough!

Album: Just A Dream Away - Shaza Leigh

Black man came and he began

To push the borderlines of man

White man followed in their tracks

Worked and toiled with bended backs

And as all people came as one

We built a culture of our own

The Spirit of Australia

Hear her heart and hear our song

See our home where we belong

Feel our pride our nation strong

Oh it is the Spirit of Australia

Yes it is the Spirit of Australia

We look around our spirits soar

The froth of oceans lap our shore

And this great land is our delight

The Southern Cross bejewels the night

We’ve a nation to be proud

So let’s sing her praises loud

The Spirit of Australia

Hear her heart and hear our song

See our home where we belong

Feel our pride our nation strong

Oh it is the Spirit of Australia
Yes it is the Spirit of Australia

Oh it is the Spirit of Australia
Yes it is the Spirit of Australia

‘Tis Springtime on Monaro none ever yet fairer

The snows among the sheltered slopes stay lingering behind

The streams that owe existence to the ranges in the distance

Leap down hollows flinging their wild music to the wind

Along those snow-fed waters Monaro's son’s and daughters

As fresh and fair as Alpine air, are born to grace the earth

And blessed by mother Nature in feature form and stature

Arise a fitting tribute to the land that gave them birth

Arise a fitting tribute to the land that gave them birth

As some colossal giant, Kosciusko stands defiant

A glory of Creation truly picturesque and grand

From Time’s inceptive stages keeping guard throughout the ages

A hoary-headed sentinel above a smiling land

A bush-birds’ chorus welling like some grand paean swelling

Holds one transfixed and spellbound with the raptures of their note

In ecstasy of living in one grand glad thanks-giving

Their joys soar up to heaven from the love-songs in their throats
Their joys soar up to heaven from the love-songs in their throats

The bees come downward winging their golden nectars bringing

From moss-beds silvered with the dews and scented by the heath

The mountain breezes vagrant, with bough and blossoms fragrant

Come rustling from the ridges to the tranquil vales beneath

Old Nature’s charms are rarer with Springtime on Monaro

Because of silent scenes untrod where solitude has lease

There is not on all the planet, a fairer picture than it

With the ranges bathed in sunshine, and the valleys filled with peace

Australia was his birthplace and he travelled every state

He brought to us his music with a cheery g’day mate

And we’ll always remember you may rest assured of that

The man who was Australia the man with the turned down hat

All over this country his songs spread afar

And his travelling show knew the dirt beyond the tar

Success was his master he’d surpassed his life long goals

The man who was Australia the man touched our heart and soul

And he’ll not be forgotten he reigned as the king

His heart bled Australia though songs he would sing

May his light shine upon us and never grow dim

All hail Australia let’s stand up for slim

And fate then intervened with her powerful hand

And our mate is now resting the toast of the land

And we came together as one to celebrate

The man who was Australia the man we all called a mate

And he’ll not be forgotten he reigned as the king

his heart bled Australia though songs he would sing

May his light shine upon us and never grow dim

All hail Australia let’s stand up for slim

It’s been a blessing

Though at times distressing

To make a stand for what’s right

Against opinion

In this dominion

Defend our conscience with might

We shall not waver

Or ever falter

Far from this path we are on

In our defence

We know consequence

An indigo actions are strong

Star child rise

Now it’s time to shine

Star child rise

Peace on earth we shall find

Star child shine

At times it’s been lonely

Cause I was the only

Battling a one man fight

Relieved to discover

That there are others

Now it’s time to unite

As we bear star children

A new revolution

Crystals and Rainbows shall reign

As they grow older

Love won’t see gender
Love will be pure without pain

Star child rise

Now it’s time to shine

Star child rise

Peace on earth we shall find

Star child shine

Album: Strength Within - Shaza Leigh

She sees a little boy crying and takes the time
to reach out and say hello
He said I’ve lost my mum and I’m trying to find out
where our loved ones go
She said little by little you’ll understand
as the time goes by
Only god has the answers to all he’s done
and his reasons why

She said your strength within will guide you
God’s love will see you through
And when you’re feeling lonely
he’ll be there for you
Take the time for sorrow
a new chapter will begin
Hold onto your memories
and feel the strength within

He reached out his hand to thank her
and caught the sorrow in her eyes
She too had known the pain of loss
and felt she’d been denied
You see some time ago she lost her only son
and was living day by day
Now as they sat in silence it became quite clear
they’d been shown the way

She said your strength within will guide you
God’s love will see you through
And when you’re feeling lonely
he’ll be there for you
Take the time for sorrow
a new chapter will begin
Hold onto your memories
and feel the strength within

Hold onto your memories
and feel the strength within

Album: Blessings - Shaza Leigh  (2023)

There’s an ache that dwells down in my heart hidden deep within

It rises to the surface every now and then

And there’s no rhyme nor reason why it hits me as it does

A trigger wakes a memory and my soul becomes exposed

But surrounded by love life does go on

Sometimes when I’m tired and don’t feel so strong

Surrounded by love each mountain we climb

A life lesson’s learned revealed in good time

And at times when life seems all too hard we question who we are

And search beyond all reason for answers from afar

There’s angels there to guide us just listen as we call

Light leads us from the darkness when our backs against the wall

But surrounded by love life does go on

Sometimes when I’m tired and don’t feel so strong

Surrounded by love each mountain we climb

A life lesson’s learned revealed in good time
