Places change
people grow
Nothing ever stays the same
I can’t tell
I just don’t know
what tomorrow brings
I never will

But I know I always have a friend in you
Someone that I know I can turn to
And god blow me down if I ever hurt you
‘Cause I know I have a friend in you

Life rolls on
Trends all change
Everybody’s doing their own thing
People rushing
Deadlines to meet
They all pass on by
Like a passing wind

But I know I always have a friend in you
Someone that I know I can turn to
And god blow me down if I ever hurt you
‘Cause I know I have a friend in you

Everybody needs a friend
Someone who they can depend
We all need to feel we are secure
Someone to have and to hold
Makes you not feel alone
Everybody needs to be assured

But I know I always have a friend in you
Someone that I know I can turn to
And god blow me down if I ever hurt you
Cause I know I have a friend in you

And god blow me down if I ever hurt you
Cause I know I have a friend in you

We might as well be strangers in this house that was our home

A home that rang with laughter but that was long ago

There's a silence stands between us as high as ten feet tall

But I'll pick up the pieces if you'll tear down the wall

I'll pick up the pieces if you'll tear down the wall

Let's face up to reality pride comes before a fall

Let laughter break the silence let it echo down the hall

And I'll pick up the pieces if you'll tear down the wall

Those old familiar faces are strangers now to me

Friends of yours I gather used to be friends to me

Now they all talk in whispers when we show ourselves around

Smiling falsely to me building new walls to tear down

I'll pick up the pieces if you'll tear down the wall

Let's face up to reality pride comes before a fall

Let laughter break the silence let it echo down the hall

And I'll pick up the pieces if you'll tear down the wall

Yes I'll pick up the pieces if you'll tear down the wall

As lovers we're parting but a friend you will be

The bottles your master that's no life for me

I'm heading for somewhere where we've never been

I'm searching for something that we've never seen

He cried lady you're crazy should you leave me tonight

Lady you're crazy you're not thinking right

But I know where I'm going I know I won't fall

By going I'm showing I'm not crazy at all

I'll drop you a line when I find myself

I'm sure by that time you'll find somebody else

To fulfil your dreams you've been chasing for years

I grew tired it seems there won't be any tears

He cried lady you're crazy should you leave me tonight

Lady you're crazy you're not thinking right

But I know where I'm going I know I won't fall

By going I'm showing I'm not crazy at all

I can see the wayward look in your eyes

See the smile you try to disguise

When you see her

I know it's over

We've been holding on for way to long

Trying to find what we left behind

Some years ago

I'd like you to know

Oh I'm not sorry so why should I

Pretend to worry break down and cry

I've heard it all before

You can't hurt me anymore

So don't you worry

Cause I'm not sorry

These days nothing lasts forever

Part time lovers live together

For sometime

Then they say goodbye

So it came as no surprise

When I caught your wandering eyes

And their intention

I'd like to mention

Oh I'm not sorry so why should I

Pretend to worry break down and cry

I've heard it all before

You can't hurt me anymore

So don't you worry

Cause I'm not sorry

I'M NOT TOO PROUD

I guess you could say I'm just a has-been

The colour of silver through my hair

The sparkle in my eyes may have faded

But if I'm needed darlin' I'll be there

You may not run and dance as you used to

Your face-map tells the story in each line

But you can still sit with your memories and ponder

All the good things you've enjoyed in one lifetime

And a smile to my face comes peeking

My eyes light up whenever you appear

Emotions flow through my veins like a river of gold

I'm not too proud to admit I'm growing old

You came to me late in life dear

A little left of my memories and pride

You may think you're a has-been old and shaken

But there's a sparkle in your eyes you can't hide

And as you cry a little tear of self-pity

Admit to myself I'm in decline

Just look back at your lifetime filled with pleasure

The long lost friends the barrooms and the wine

And a smile to my face comes peeking

My eyes light up whenever you appear

Emotions flow through my veins like a river of gold

I'm not too proud to admit I'm growing old

Emotions flow through my veins like a river of gold

I'm not too proud to admit I'm growing old

He was in the backyard playing I was cleaning up again
Just a simple Sunday afternoon for a mother and her son
When a scream just cut right through me I ran to take his side
‘Twas just a fall with a bloody knee tear filled eyes and broken pride

I placed a hand upon his shoulder with tender words and loving smile
He just knew it would be alright in a little while

He came through the door one evening as he did everyday
Dropped his things upon the floor and quietly came my way
And it hit me like a bombshell though I knew this day would come
He and some mates had found a house he was leaving home

I placed a hand upon his shoulder with tender words and loving smile
He just knew it would be alright in a little while

Then in a few years he was married and my first grandchild was born
My own son grew to understand how a house becomes a home
And one day whilst we were talking his pain I recognised
He said Mum we don’t have them long I just realised

He placed a hand upon my shoulder with tender words and loving smile
We just knew it would be alright in a little while

Yes we just knew it would be alright in a little while

Everyone could see her crying
but the silent crowd sat staring
No single act of kindness was bestowed
Where some kindly act was needed
Not one single person heeded
The crying girl alone there in the crowd

Someone’s daughter in a city
Not renowned for common pity
I stopped to comfort her a while
No one sitting there beside her
cared what troubles made her cry there
They missed the friendship in her smile

Well I think what really mattered
Is some happening had shattered
Someone’s heart and no one wished to see
Makes me wonder is this how the world should be
Makes me wonder is this how the world should be

So that lonely soul departed
On a train broken hearted
Leaving questions without answers in my mind
What despair had caused her sorrow
Was she chasing new tomorrows
Leaving some cruel yesterday behind

Well I think what really mattered
Is some happening had shattered
Someone’s heart and no one wished to see
Makes me wonder is this how the world should be
Makes me wonder is this how the world should be

Well I think what really mattered
Is some happening had shattered
Someone’s heart and no one wished to see
Makes me wonder is this how the world should be
Makes me wonder is this how the world should be

He came in late again last night third time this week
With no explanation he wouldn’t speak
I just stared into the lies hidden in his eyes
And found no need to ask him why

But it’s all over now
I’m not hanging round
For you to pull me down
It’s all over now

I don’t feel the need to tell you where we went wrong
We’ve shared good times together but now they’re gone
But I will always have fond memories
That’s something you can’t take from me

And it’s all over now
I’m not hanging round
For you to pull me down
It’s all over now

Well it’s all over now
I’m not hanging round
For you to pull me down
It’s all over now

It’s all over
All over now It’s all over

Well it’s all over now
I’m not hanging round
For you to pull me down
It’s all over now

We are born we learn what’s going on
We get torn working out what’s right or wrong
We fall in love and feel that broken heart
Then rise above after falling apart

It’s so easy being close to you
It’s so easy in everything we do
and I never will forget you no matter where we go
‘Cause it’s so easy, it’s so easy loving you

I just smile at your funny little ways
Laugh a while at the crazy things you say
We still walk the path we’re travelling on
We just talk about what’s going on

It’s so easy being close to you
It’s so easy in everything we do
and I never will forget you no matter where we go
‘Cause it’s so easy, it’s so easy loving you

Wake each day (wake each day) The sun still shining bright
Push cares away (push cares away) and ease into the night

Sittin’ on a bar stool all day long
Wondering where the hell all the time has gone
Seems like only yesterday he was twenty one
He got married when he was young
Had a lovely wife but now she’s gone
left him with the kids to raise on his own

Then he started drinking
To stop himself from thinking

Cause it’s so hard to make it on your own
Nobody understands
Living your life with no one to turn to
No one to lend a hand
Waking up alone now that she’s gone
Trying to make a new start
Well it’s so hard
It’s so hard

As he sits at night recalling memories
of when he was a child and how his family
Fell apart when his mother walked out
And he swore it would never happen to him
As his dreams were shattered once again
Now his failure is all he seems to think about

Then he started drinking
To stop himself from thinking

Cause it’s so hard to make it on your own
Nobody understands
Living your life with no one to turn to
No one to lend a hand
Waking up alone now that she’s gone
Trying to make a new start
Well it’s so hard

It’s so hard

It’s just your way

so I’d have to say

It’s just how you walk

And how you talk

It’s just your way

It’s just that smile

It’s there in your style

It’s deep in your eyes

there’s no disguise

It’s just your smile

But I won’t stand in your way

Though you want me to stay

Like sands in the hour glass

Our time has passed

Let’s call it a day

Cause I won’t stand in your way
It’s been fun to play

Now we both know

That you must go

I won’t stand in your way

It’s just your touch

So gentle and such

And it cuts to the core

I’m left wanting more

It’s just your touch

And It’s just my way

So I have to say

It’s time to walk

No time to talk

It’s just my way

But I won’t stand in your way

Though you want me to stay

Like sands in the hour glass

Our time has passed

Let’s call it a day

Cause I won’t stand in your way

It’s been fun to play

Now we both know

That you must go

I won’t stand in your way

Yes we both know

That you must go

I won’t stand in your way

I WON'T TAKE DOWN YOUR PICTURE

Single: Just A Dream Away - Shaza Leigh (2013)

I stare at old photographs of you
fond memories of all we used to do
And now when I wish upon a star
is when I wonder where you are
Are you searching for me?

And I can’t seem to take your picture down
It’s my way of keeping you around
And they all say that time will ease my pain
I’ll start loving once again
But the grief is too profound

And I won’t take down your picture
And leave emptiness just hanging on the wall
And I’ll hold onto our memories
They’re all that I have left to recall

He built me a family and a home
stood by me to never walk alone
Then our world came tumbling to the ground
the day we lay your body down
Left me to make it on my own

And I won’t take down your picture
And leave emptiness just hanging on the wall
And I’ll hold onto our memories
They’re all that I have left to recall
