Lian-gong Qiu  (born April 10, 1938) is a Taiwanese legal scholar who holds a Doctor of Laws from the University of Tokyo. He specializes in civil procedural law, with the ideal of maximizing the realization of justice. Professor Qiu's views are unique, particularly emphasizing the balance between substantive interests of the parties and procedural interests in the law. He believes that civil litigation procedures involve the collaboration between the court and the parties in seeking the essence of the law. His goal is to promote the establishment of a warm and humane judicial environment.
