嚴紹恩，2002年出生，台北人。目前就讀國立政治大學法律學系碩士班，在學期間曾赴大阪大學法學研究科交換。
自高中時期起，我便以攝影作為主要創作媒材，長期關注地景與歴史文化之間的交織狀態，以及全球化語境下的身分認同問題。近期作品〈帝國主義與生成擴散模型〉，即使用太魯閣戰爭中所留下的日軍寫真帖為素材，結合AI圖像生成技術，嘗試移除原始照片中的殖民視線，産出新的影像，藉此引導觀者反思「只見番地而不見番人」的理番政策與今日AI所帶來的技術偏見。作品曾在台灣、日本、義大利等地展出，並曾榮獲洄瀾美展首獎、宜蘭獎佳作、NEW WAVE 攝影創作獎、入選日本写真新人賞等。
Yen Shao-En, born in 2002 in Taipei, is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Law at National Chengchi University, and has studied as an exchange student at Osaka University’s Graduate School of Law.
Since high school, photography has been his primary medium of creation. His practice has long focused on the entanglement of landscapes and historical culture, as well as questions of identity within the context of globalization. His recent work, Imperialism and Generative Diffusion Models, uses Japanese military photo albums from the Truku War as source material. By combining them with AI image-generation techniques, he attempts to remove the colonial gaze embedded in the original photographs and produce new images. Through this process, he invites viewers to reflect on both the policy of “seeing the land but not the people” in colonial governance and the technological biases inherent in contemporary AI.
His works have been exhibited in Taiwan, Japan, and Italy, and he has received numerous awards, including the First Prize at the Hualien Fine Arts Exhibition, Honorable Mention at the Yilan Award, the NEW WAVE Photography Award, and selection at the New Photography Award Finalist, Japan.
