Formative assessment is very important during class discussion because it helps teachers determine whether students truly understand the lesson. It also serves as a tool to monitor their progress and identify areas that need improvement. I remember during my observation, my cooperating teacher discussed the topic " Types of Verbal". After the discussion, she randomly asked students to identify the type of verbal used in each sentence. Some students answered correctly, while others were still confused.
In response, my cooperating teacher patiently assisted those who struggled by guiding them step by step until they finally understood the concept. This experience showed me how valuable formative assessment is. It allows teachers to immediately check students' comprehension and provide the necessary support. Through this process, misconceptions can be addressed right away, ensuring that no students are left behind and that learning becomes more meaningful for everyone.
Assessment plays a crucial role in the field of education, as it serves as a foundation for effective teaching and learning. In SNCS, teachers use both digital and non-digital materials in their instructions. They utilize flatscreen TVs to present lessons and also textbooks for their students. This approach makes teaching more efficient because teachers no longer need to write extensively on the board or prepare many physical instructional materials. Instead, they can focus on delivering the lesson effectively and engaging with their students.
Nowadays, students are highly exposed to technology, so using digital tools helps capture their attention and makes learning more interactive and enjoyable. It also allows them to develop digital literacy skills, which are essential in the 21st century. For me, the most useful resources in teaching diverse learners are digital instructional materials because they offer a wide variety of tools and platform that can cater to different learning needs and style. However, it is important to ensure that these materials are appropriate, accessible, and aligned with students' abilities. With the help of digital resources, we can create meaningful learning experiences that encourage students to explore, stay engage, and learn effectively.
