Security First Reporting Standards

Reporting Standards:

Security First Reporting standards are simple, and closely follow BSIS standards for incident reporting, which you likely learned about in your BSIS initial training. Reports need to be clear, to the point, and answer who, what, where, and when. What about why? The Why must be factual and not opinion. If the why is an established fact, It is to be included. If it is an opinion, it is not to be included. Opinions have no place in reporting. Facts are all that is relevant in reporting. Conjecture is not.

Standard reporting via SilverTrac follows the following basic progression through a shift:

  • Foot Patrol/Security Check/Security Patrol/Check Common Ground, etc. (Make an opening intent statement note about your activity and what you wish to accomplish, Make additional notes with additional discovery, take lots of photos, make a closing summery statement.
