Troop Financial Report Overview, Key Reminders and Tips:
Report Deadline: Troop and Service Unit financial reports are due by May 1. Late reports are not eligible for the Cookie Bonus.
Report Coverage: Your report should cover finances from April 1 last year to March 31 this year.
No Bank Account: If your troop doesn’t have a bank account, you will not submit a report. Instead, email your SU treasurer at sfsutreasurers@gmail.com with the message that your troop does not have an account yet so will not be submitting a report this year.
Beginning Balance: Use the previous year’s ending balance as the beginning balance for your report. If you’re unsure, the SU treasurer can help you find it. If you opened a bank account after April 1 of last year, use a beginning balance of $0.
Ending Balance: The ending balance on the report must match your bank statement from March 31 of this year. You must include the savings account amounts in the ending balance, even if the account isn’t used.
Service Unit: Our Service Unit is #654 Sage Frontier
Report Submission Confirmation: After submitting your report, forward your confirmation to the Service Unit Treasurers at sfsutreasurers@gmail.com by May 1.
Troops with $3,000+ Ending Balance: Must provide an explanation of how the funds will be used.
Audit Selection: GSCTX will randomly audit 5-10 troops and service units. Troops with over $15,000 in earnings from concessions will be fully audited.
