Now raising its fourth generation of artisanal jewelers, this quintessentially North Beach family business stalwart first opened its doors in 1948 with the legendary artist Peter Macchiarini. Since then, the Macchiarinis have continually offered innovative, custom, fine handmade jewelry design in addition to dedicated gallery space for events and art exhibitions. And that's just the front of the house! Move toward the back to glimpse where the magic truly happens—SF Metalworks, where Daniel Macchiarini, his daughter, Emma, and other friends and family design and produce their one-of-a-kind creations. There they also teach classes in jewelry design, casting, and production in addition to other metalworking techniques, such as sculpture. They even offer classes where couples can design and make their own engagement, wedding, or other commemorative rings! Check out their website for upcoming class schedules, special offers, and other features!
In case you missed our last event...The Story of Emperor Norton Parts 1 & 2.
