Live Worms
1345 Grant Ave.
Long considered to be an anchor of the North Beach gallery circuit, Live Worms is so named after a sign once proffering live fishing bait to the neighborhood.
Long considered to be an anchor of the North Beach gallery circuit, Live Worms is so named after a sign once proffering live fishing bait to the neighborhood. Now helmed by veteran North Beach artist Elizabeth Ashcroft, late of Grey City Gallery, Worms features select solo and group shows in addition to a variety of pop-up exhibitions and events hosted by artists who rent the space. It's surrounded by cafés, restaurants, and local boutiques, making it a natural hub for the First Friday experience.
Welcome veteran NB artist Elizabeth Ashcroft's new incarnation of our veteran NB gallery, Live Worms! Open for their first First Fridays, this 38-local-artist salon-style show features well over 100 pieces proudly priced for a pandemic. A portion of the proceeds will go to keeping the invaluable gem that is Live Worms... well, alive.

Take a virtual tour of the gallery here—but do stop by in person! As pieces move on to their new homes, more will be hung in their places. The living exhibit runs through September 6, 2020.
