North Beach Pizza's Grant Avenue location is a long-time favorite among locals and visitors alike. It's so local that when it needed to expand it moved to its current location, literally across Grant, locals didn't even need to change vocabulary when giving directions: It's on Grant & Union! Under new ownership since March 2020, the original North Beach Pizza laid the foundation for pizza standards in this historically Italian district and offers a wide variety of downright artistic pizzas in addition to salads, antipasti, and pasta. Pizza Portuguesa—try one of the most famous pizzas from Brazil (The North Beach-Rio Connection, we all know it's a thing). A perfect combination of thin crust, mozzarella, ham, boiled eggs, green peas, onions, catupiry (Brazilian cheese), and oregano. Muito delicioso!
