And today the great Yertle, that Marvelous he,
Is King of the Mud. That is all he can see.
And the turtles, of course... all the turtles are free.
As turtles and, maybe, all creatures should be.
A smaller flat ride near the Jungle of Nool, Yertle the Turtle is designed for younger guests, but can be enojyed by all. At its core, it's a simple Dumbo-style spinning attraction, but some slight thematic and structural modifications add enhanced capability and theming.
The queue for Yertle the Turtle is relatively short, simply winding back and forth around the spinner itself two times. On days when the land is at or near capacity and demand for the attraction is higher than usual, the ueue can easily be temporarily expanded along the edge of the Jungle of Nool towards the entrance to Seussian Safari.
Throughout the regular queue are 6 placards telling the (somewhat abridged) story of Yertle the Turtle.
The central tower of the spinner is much thicker than a usual spinner flat ride, as inside is a moving prop. Throughout the short, minute and a half ride time, a tower of turtles, with Yertle on top, rises out of the central tower, before slowly sinking back down again. While this is a simple addition, it adds an eye-catching movement to entrance passing guests.
Other than the tower of turtles, the ride is fairly basic. Riders can control their height with a control inside their car, rising up and sinking down as they circle.
