Our program's mission is to expose young children to local charities, create empathy for those in need, and engage children in the benefits of helping others, all while having fun and working as a team! We are offering weekend projects as well as a two-week summer program.

Service Stars Summer Program

We are running a community service summer program the weeks of 8/13 and 8/20. We will spend the morning engaged in a fun service project, taking snack and play breaks as needed. When the project is finished, we will have lunch together outside. We will conclude with a wrap up discussion that will highlight other ways that they get involved from home. Children that are staying for a full day will then have the option of free play on the playground or doing a craft project that has a service focus (i.e. making get well cards for kids in the hospital). Each day is different, so sign up for both sessions, one session, or individual days! This is a brand new program so please help us spread the word!

**Some days will be on-site at a local Newton-based charity with a short walk to a nearby playground. Other days will be at the Lower Falls Community Center or the Shuman Center in Oak Hill Park where we will bring the project to us. See the Schedule tab for daily drop-off and pick-up locations. There may be slight changes in the schedule and locations as we work to make each day as enriching as possible. Final schedules will be mailed to you soon so you can plan ahead!**
