Short Biography

Bruno P. Moreira was conferred a BSc degree in Biomedical Sciences in 2016 at the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Beira Interior (FCS-UBI), Portugal. In 2017 he was conferred a MSc degree in Biomedical Sciences at the same institution. His master's dissertation was developed at Sertoli Cell and Gamete Biology group and is entitled "Leptin and Sertoli cells mitochondrial bioenergetics".

From 2017 to 2018 he was a laboratory technician at the Unit for Multidisciplinary Research in Biomedicine (UMIB), ICBAS, Porto, Portugal under the supervision of Dr. Pedro F. Oliveira, within the FCT founded project: PTDC/BBB-BQB/1368/2014. In 2019, he was granted a 6-month fellowship at the same institution within the FCT funded project: PTDC/MEC-AND/28691/2017 under the supervision of Dr. Marco G. Alves.

Later that year, he enrolled in the PhD programme on Biomedical Sciences, at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences Abel Salazar, University of Porto, Porto, Portugal (ICBAS-UP), under supervision of Prof. Pedro F. Oliveira (UA), and co-supervision of Prof. Margarida Fardilha (iBiMED-UA) and Prof. Alberto Barros (FMUP-UP). His research interests are focused in new signaling pathways that control sperm quality.
