Short Biography

Laís Brito is a 3rd-year student of the Licentiate degree in Biochemistry at the University of Porto. Her main areas of interest are Biochemistry, Health Sciences, Molecular Biology, and Genetics. When she finishes her university education, she intends to dedicate herself to research, in order to help improve the quality of life of the population through scientific discoveries.

She is currently working on the project "Mitochondrial Uncoupling Proteins (UCPs) in Human Spermatozoa" at the SC & Gamete Biology Lab at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences Abel Salazar (ICBAS) for her 3rd-year internship under the supervision of Prof. Marco G. Alves (ICBAS-UP) and co-supervision of David F. Carrageta (ICBAS-UP), MSc.
