It isn't uncommon to hear that Saint Louis is one of the most dangerous cities in America. For a city with a small population, we are ranked this way because of murder per capita, or in other words how many murders are committed in our city.
I had originally planned to do a project about crime in Saint Louis, but there are many inconsistencies in research and statistics themselves over why crime occurs in STL. I have instead decided to look at one aspect of violent crime and examine the criminals behind them. As someone who has taken a forensics class studying serial killers, I feel that I am knowledgeable on being able to analyze these individuals.
I seek to reflect on the following questions:
Has the killer always lived in Saint Louis, or was Saint Louis simply a passing location where they killed?
How quickly was the killer apprehended?
What is there educational and familial background?
What was the police force's response to these murders? How quickly did they act?
Who did these killers target, and why?
