Carseldine station opened in 1986. On 28 August 2000, a third platform opened as part of the additional track from Northgate to Bald Hills.
Carseldine serves the homonymous suburb of Carseldine which was named after the building contractor William Carseldine who settled in the Bald Hills area and owned land in Carseldine.
Carseldine station has three platforms consisting of an island platform and a side platform. Platform 1 is used for inbound services, platform 3 is for outbound services and platform 2 is for some outbound peak services.
Carseldine station has two station entrance which are the carpark on Beams Road and on Lavender Place.
Carseldine station does have disability access.
