Alderley station opened in 1899 at the same time as the line. In 1953 the line was duplicated from Newmarket to Mitchelton. The line was electrified on 17 November 1979. The upgrade of the station was completed in November 2017 which included a new footbridge and lifts.
Alderley was named after the homonymous suburb of Alderley which was named after Alderley Edge in Cheshire, England.
Alderley station has two side platforms. Platform 1 is used for inbound services and platform 2 is used for outbound services.
Alderley station has two entrances. One is on Hall Street and one to the carpark for access to South Pine Road.
Alderley doesn’t have any disability access.
