9th grade AVID helps ease the transition from middle to high school. Mrs. Rose has a tough love for all her students, she pushes everyone to be the best they can. Mr. Pinato is our newest AVID Elective teacher that also teaches 9th grade AVID and we're lucky to have him. This course develops study buddies with the upperclassmen, get used to building study groups within your class, collaboration & people skills. Learning how to find your voice and be seen. Your first year of high school needs to be structured to develop personal balance for your later years.

10th grade AVID (with Mr. Brammer or Pinato) you learn to set your path because you gain a good amount of independence. This is the grade that allows you to discover many community service and clubs opportunities that might interest you. This class will help you find an upperclassman role model that you can learn from and then show the younger buddies what AVID is all about.

11th grade AVID (with Mr. Brammer or Pinato) focuses on studying and making a test date for the SAT & ACT. The teachers push you to choose harder classes to help with getting you in a 4 year university. In this class we focus on academics with the help from the tutors. We also learn skills on time management in order to prioritize our time if we do have busy schedules. This class allows us to be more independent than 10th grade and to be the role models and mentor for the 10th graders.

12th grade AVID is so worth the wait of 3-4 years. Mrs. Marshall helps us get those applications in before the deadlines. Inspiring and challenging us as we listen to college reps in order to figure out where we want to go. We learn how to develop a strong resume. She supports and requires that we apply for as many scholarships as we want too. This year we become very independent which allows us to get used to what a college class is like and how to meet the expectation.
