Mountain Leader and Walking Guide.

Background:

Mark is the founder of Sedbergh Summits.  He is a qualified mountain leader with over 30 years of experience planning, leading and guiding groups and expeditions in the upland areas of the UK, Europe, Africa and Asia.  He has lived near Sedbergh since 2010 and has been visiting the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and Howgill for many years.  Mark regularly completes Continuous Professional Development with the Mountain Training organisation to remain current with best practice and standards. 

Qualifications, Authorisations & Membership:

• Mountain Leader (Summer)

• International Mountain Leader (Summer), Winter Assessment in January 2027

• Austrian Alpine Club Member - Sektion Britannia

• British Mountaineering Club Member

• 3rd Party professional indemnity insurance

• 16 Hours First Aid 

• NSPCC Safeguarding

• Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service registered.

• Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme Registered Expedition Assessor

Other Mountain Leaders:

From time to time Sedbergh Summits employs other qualified Mountain Leaders on a freelance basis as required.  Only Mountain Leaders with the appropriate in date qualifications and a proven and current track record of working successfully in the industry are accepted.
